-Providing pre-operative education for patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and/or surgical treatments for various head and neck cancers, including expected changes in speech and swallowing anatomy and physiology, or treatment-related effects such as dysphagia, trismus, mucositis, xerostomia, and dysgeusia
-Performing clinical swallowing evaluations in both inpatient and outpatient settings to provide diet recommendations and dysphagia rehabilitation as appropriate
-Conducting videofluoroscopic swallowing studies for inpatients and outpatients for identification of oropharyngeal swallowing pathophysiology
-Management of tracheoesophageal voice prostheses for total laryngectomy patients
-Providing electrolarynx education and training
-Assessing tolerance of Passy-Muir speaking valves for tracheostomized inpatients

-Collaborated with clinical supervisor for evaluation and treatment of speech, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing dysfunction in patients with progressive neurogenic movement disorders in an outpatient setting, including patients with Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, Multiple Systems Atrophy, Essential Tremor, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, and Huntington’s disease
-Independently conducted motor speech evaluations and provided individualized dysarthria counseling
-Independently conducted videofluoroscopic swallow studies and provided individualized counseling and compensatory strategies for dysphagia management
-Evaluated patients’ speech and swallowing functioning as a component of the DBS “Fast-Track”, an interdisciplinary evaluation to determine candidacy for DBS implantation and speech or swallowing-related contraindications for surgery, and monitoring post-DBS surgery for changes to the speech and swallowing mechanism
