Developed detailed engineering design packages (EDP’s) for work related to a given switching location. Provided tiered support to other technical team members during implementation. Network elements included Nortel MSC, Ericsson MSC, Nortel BSC, Ericsson BSC, and Nokia BSC. Determined system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinated design of subsystems and integration of total system. Used Remedy to verify incoming tickets for completeness and accuracy. Understand line attributes for DS0’s, DS1’s, DS3’s and Optical circuits. Completed Granite Circuit revisions for Node B and 2G site reparenting, circuit adds and decommissions after reparenting. Followed all Engineering Guidelines and Standards. Completed circuit tracking in both Granite and on separate spreadsheet. Completed designs and requirement by Service Level Agreement times and forward circuit design to the required team via Remedy. Accountable for strategic planning of fiber optic rings in Illinois and Wisconsin.

Developed plans for network expansion and backhaul overview. Developed new network topology plan (collapsing rings for more efficient use). Used Remedy to verify incoming tickets for completeness and accuracy. Managed Point to Point DS3 capacity and ordered Point to Point DS3’s as needed. Developed a plan to move Point to Point DS3 for other vendors to ATT.

Used JaX to redesign where T1s would enter the ring nodes on the Dark Fiber Network and to decide where carrier hubs are needed. Utilized Granite to update circuit information in the Granite database to correct the database for better overall knowledge of the network. Centralized Ticketing System to start the progress of migrating circuits to the Dark Fiber and re-grooming T1s to the best DS3 for a more efficient and cost effective network. Requested for quotes for DS3s and OCn in the network. Used MapInfo to conduct a Growth summary of hubs to decide if expansion of a hub were needed. Aided in Engineering of Microwave paths though out the network and decided which was no longer needed or which should be upgraded.
