The first part of my career was spent in Management Accounting and IT working with the various management teams, assisting them in stabilizing their financial position, and then providing them with the necessary analysis of their operations to help in sound management decisions that resulted in solid growth. For the past 15 years I have been more heavily involved in IT/Finance with the ERP SYRPO package. I was able to capitalize on my prior Process Flow experience, understanding of audit trail, Team approach, and understanding of Separation of Duties in overlaying the client's business flows into the various modules, assisting in implementations over a six month time period, designing financial reports via SYSPRO, Crystal, Access, and excel. After a time with a SYSPRO VAR, I ventured out on my own helping various companies take advantage of all SYSPRO had to offer. In addition to consulting I also did several stints as a SYSPRO Administrator which also gave me more clarity/understanding on the package as I was actually using it and was assisting users (at all levels) when they would encounter issues (for whatever reason). So I now possess the understanding of both the theory and the practice behind SYSPRO. With the advent of SYSPRO 7 I have had to alter my normal update procedures to encompass a Test Environment prior to bringing the new Ports into the Production model of SYSPRO.
Some of my accomplishments have been:
1- Converted antique network to a Pentium network via Novel and Microsoft Back Office SBS
2- Enhanced financial reporting from a simple current period and year to date set of statements to a more meaningful prior year, current budget, and year to date comparisons (including gross profit comparisons).
3- Designed (in-house) Association Mgmt System for 8 K rather than buy limited outside product for 25 K
4- Instituted online banking procedures resulting in enhanced investment income, liquidity, and simplified use
5- Developed the budgeting process into a short, efficient one-day process instead of a week ordeal
6- In one case, Implemented and went live with SSYSPRO in less than two months while responsible for two additional projects. This was largely due to strong dedicated interaction with the client team and myself.
7- Designed the only known EVMS Application in SYSPRO
8- Developed Knowledge Bases replete with SYSPRO Tutorials and Step by Step Operational Instructions
9- Designed G/L Flash report combining Balance sheet Ratios, P /L Rations, Turns multi-year Balance Sheet Summary, and Multi-year P/L Summary in one report via real-time SYSPRO Data
10- Have handled time clock data import-conversion into ABRA payroll for clients who use ABRA with SYSPRO for their payroll needs.
11- Completed a fulfillment system so WMG could handle Toyota North America and Toyota Canada sales
12- Use of SQL CTE's in Excel to allow Accounting to reconcile a sub ledger to the General Ledger in 15 minutes instead of hours (allowing the Accounting department to spend more time in analysis of Operations).
