Senior Manager of Network and Network Security

Deliver technical expertise and leadership for overall Network and Network Security infrastructure. Analyzed business and technology challenges, assessed costs, and suggested solutions.

Developed a three year plan to refresh the network and network security for St John / Providence Health System (SJPHS) Ministry (part of AIS).

Planned and implemented the refresh and migration of the entire Layer 3 network for SJPHS, 6 Hospitals and 195 remote clinics. Refresh included new Core switches, Top of Rack switch invironment, and closet edge environment. Approximate capital expenditure $11,000,000.

Planned and implemented the refresh and migration of the entire Wireless infrastructure for SJPHS, 6 Hospitls and 195 remote clinics to a new state of the art Wi-Fi system. Approximate capital expenditure $3,500,000.

Planned and implemented the refresh and migration of a new Network security infrastructure environment for SJPHS, which includes 75 Firewalls and 20 VPN appliances. $1,100,000.

Created a full blown Payment Cad Industry (PCI) compliant environment all point of sales (POS) devices Ministry wide. Includes Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Protection t all points of PCI compliant network.

Built network resource team for networking, network security and Wi-Fi support. Brought networking expertise to a team that had no network expertise or leadership.

Planned and implemented the migration of old legasy circuits from the carriers to a new switched Ethernet cloud based solution from at&t.The migration is for all 195 remote clinics.

Planned and implementing a new Fiber based ring encompassing all 6 Hospitals and the home office bulding from SJPHS. This ring replaces the existing Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure.

Led implementation $10,000,000 MPLS Opt-e-man network for 7 hospitals and 102 clinics to support Electronic Medical Records (EMR) application. Currently leading up switched Ethernet effort for entire HFHS network.

Directed $7,000,000 project for wireless system infrastructure design and implementation consisting of guest access and normal user access for voice, data, and video.

Implemented VM Ware infrastructure along with 800 server Citrix Farm.

Oversaw strategy and design on all network security for the health system, implemented all HIPAA compliant solutions.

Planned and implemented a complete BYOD strategy for HFHS user community. Strategy included Policy and procedures, a Mobile Device Management System, a data loss structure and a support structure around BYOD.

Planned and implemented a 280 agent world class contact center which enabled HFHS to better service new and existing pateints.

Orchestrate all Information Technology projects for health system. Projects include:

oWest Bloomfield Hospital – 192 bed hospital including patient services and Main Campus West Clinic addition consisting of 80 beds (private rooms). Five separate associated feeder clinics.

oSpectralink Replacement Strategy for the HFHS.

Lead telecommunications network environment consisting of voice design, implementation and daily operations.

Directed VoIP implementation project across the entire health system, this includes 30,000 voice ports. Introduced unified communication strategy, Lync was the UC tool of choice.

Developed and managed a plan for Cellphone and Mobile device strategy for HFHS Medical Group. This includes full service operations and device management.

Developed and managed a plan for Video Conferencing and a Telemedicine solution for HFHS Medical Group and Administrators.

Planned and managed the design and implementation of a world-renown Clinical Simulation Lab at the HFHS Main Campus facility.

Planned and Integrated the new Henry Ford Macomb Hospital from an IT perspective.

Developed all technology standards for design of new 192 bed Hospital HFHS built and opened in 2009. This includes IDF and MDF design, computer room design, pathways for fiber and copper, HVAC needs, fire suppression, UPS needs, network, wireless, and VOIP designs and implementation.

Leading up an overall effort to renovate HFHS existing Data Center (43,000 sq ft) with all new Tier 3 N+1 power infrastructure, new cabling design, new server rack design, new Core Network design, and new storage design and connectivity. Renovation also includes all new HVAC, fire suppression, and overall monitoring systems available for a raised floor.

Lead the development and implementation of a CoLocation Data Center site for HFHS in support of the new EPIC EMR.

Director of Operations - Henry Ford Health System Outsource 1999 – 2005

Provided strategic technology leadership and product vision to management of outsourced systems for health system. This included management of operations, help desk, technical support, security, LAN / WAN and telecommunications infrastructures.
