Design Engineer – Member of the product development team designing office and school furniture using CAD.

●Perform market research, analyze, develop, and recommend product design approaches necessary to meet market demands. One of my designs was chosen by the company for an utility patent.

●Prepare and review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to industrial safety standards, internal control procedures, specifications and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning.

●Work closely with manufacturing and test engineers to build and test prototypes of new and/or improved products.

●Assist VP of Engineering to develop tooling for new projects by researching and identifying qualified suppliers. Work closely with tooling suppliers to ensure tooling and fixtures are producing quality parts per specifications.

●Work closely with production engineers to improve on design and manufacturing processes to minimize redundancies, reduce inefficiencies and to improve safety for end users.

●Assist Engineering Manager to manage project details such as new product concepts, development of drawings, building prototypes and documentation.

●Design, evaluate, and draw detailed part and assembly drawings using CAD software.

●Develop and monitor test procedures consistent with design and in compliance to industrial safety standard.
