Implementation tools group

Solution architect and delivery manager for SWIFT (Soarian Web Based

Implementation Framework and Tools), a web based project collaboration

framework, designed to make implementation of Soarian Clinical (the

enterprise healthcare product developed by Siemens which takes 30,000 hours

to implement) cheaper, faster and more efficient by leveraging the follow

the sun model (taking advantage of the time difference between India and

the USA.

Founded the tools team, to develop implementation and support tools for

Was responsible for creating the proposal and obtaining top management

funding and approval for the project.

Put together a great team of people and developed TradeEx.

Protector+, a software product developed to protect the intellectual

property within a corporate intranet from being compromised.

Generated the idea for solving Wipro's problem. A very unique and

Developed the initial proof of concept. Demonstrated it to Wipro's top

Trade Anywhere

Trade Anywhere is a truly global, internet enabled electronic trading

solution. The system enabled trading on India's premier bourses, NSE

(National Stock Exchange) and BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) using the CTCL &

the IML interface to connect with BSE & NSE respectively. Trading adaptors

were also developed for trading on NASDAQ using the CTCI / ACT & the NQDS

systems for trading in the US (United States) markets. For the European

markets, we developed an interface into the London stock exchange (SETS

market). The price broadcast was pulled from the LMIL / NQDS systems for

the UK & US market respectively.

Was the product manager responsible for creating the roadmap, vision &

strategy for the company's internet based trading engine, Trade Anywhere.

Worked with highly talented managers and team members to make Trade

Anywhere a highly stable product.

Responsibilities included, requirements engineering and project planning.

VAMA Infonet / Solar Mercantile, Bangalore, India Jul 1995 - Nov 1996

VAMA Infonet was a startup created to develop a client server based, online

trading system for brokers. The company was later acquired by Solar

Mercantile.

This system was developed to be a complete networking solution for seamless

trading on the two premier stock exchanges in the country, BSE (Bombay

Stock Exchange) and NSE (National Stock Exchange) by brokers and their

clients on a TCP/IP based VSAT and leased line network.

I was the founding member of the development team and had product

management and overall delivery responsibility for the product.

I was responsible for hiring the development team, establishing the product

roadmap & creating the product development strategy.

Planned and monitored the entire development and implementation process.

Participated as the lead technical architect for the trading system.

Was the face to the customer for solving their technical, infrastructure,

connectivity and system related problems.

Dataline and Research Technologies (Dart), was a high end provider of

cutting edge software products and content services to cater to the needs

of the Indian stock market participants.

Trader workstation (TWS)

We developed India's first price broadcasting and interpretation software

called Trade workstation - developed on the lines of the Dow Jones, Reuters

and Knight Rider terminals.

Was responsible for the system architecture, design, development and

testing.

Designed the broadcast feed protocol.

Worked with a terrific team of people.

Big Debt Online (BDOL)

Was part of the onsite team responsible for developing BDOL, a software for

collection and distribution of stock and bond data over the internet, this

was just prior to the formation of the world wide web.

Received excellent customer feedback. Was invited to transfer to Indepth

Data Inc in Oklahoma, USA.

India Online

India Online was India's first online data distribution network setup in

India even before the days of the internet. This was prior to the Internet

and all data transmission was over our private network connecting Delhi,

Calcutta, Bombay, Chennai and Bangalore.

Joined the company during startup. Architected and designed the complete

data distribution and messaging system.

Recruited and built the development team from scratch.

We worked on the Unix platform at the backend and windows on the front end.

Worked with a terrific team of people.

Siba software was an early leader in the software arena in Bangalore. We

had bagged the prestigious Kuala Lumpur stock exchange project. The company

was later acquired by ITC InfoTech.

Central Depository System (CDS)

CDS was Malaysia first scrip less trading system for trading stocks and

shares on the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange.

We jointly worked with Formis International SDN BHD for developing the

complete trading system.

I was the project leader, responsible for delivering the PC and Sun based

front end to the trading system.

I was involved in the design and development of both the products and

traveled onsite for the implementation.

After the company was acquired, I joined the team developing Packed Stock

Purchase System, a leaf & tobacco purchase management system for ITC's leaf

and tobacco division.

At ITC, I developed an ingenious new report writer on Unix for building

reports for Unify, very quickly and easily. It had a TUI interface (Text

User Interface - before the advent of GUI) developed using the curses

library on Unix.

PCS was primarily a software training institute which had a small software

development practice.

Prerna

I was part of a 2 member team developing Prerna, a multilingual software

(Hindi / English) product. Prerna could print multilingual greeting cards &

banners, very similar to the popular Print Master.

I gained phenomenal expertise in the C programming language. We used Turbo

C and BGI.

I was involved in imparting training in C and COBOL.

Trade Master

Trade Master was an integrated inventory control and financial accounting

system and was sold as a point of sale terminal to small and medium

businesses. I was responsible for the design and development of Trade

Master.
