Professional Experience
New York Independent System Operator - N Y I S O (Sr. Project Manager) February 2007 - September 2012
Served as the Project Manager for over 25 corporate projects and initiatives. Projects included several compliance modifications, modeling software upgrades; implementation of a new outage scheduling application; implementation of various infrastructure and operations projects; and completion of software certifications for our main modeling engine. I played an integral role in completing the DOE Smart Grid proposal. I also designed implementation of Documentum, re-established monthly Project Management Working Group meetings, worked with the Product Manager on budget preparations, generated and presented bi-weekly executive dashboards and assisted in the generation of the annual product plan. Other initiatives include assisting in development of a long-term report distribution and worked to establish standards and procedures to follow when procuring and working with an outside development vendor. I also worked on the team that totally revamped our problem resolution system and procedures including installation of a new comprehensive tracking system.
PMI March 2006 - present
PMP certification in August 2006. Instructor in local PMI chapter's PMP Exam Workshop class since 2007, teaching two sections in 2011 and 2012. Updated class materials for PMBOK 4th edition. In 2012 will be bringing the local chapter class into NYISO and will teach several sections.
Compuware (Sr. Project Manager) November 2005 - February 2007
Served as the Project Manager for several New York State Police headquarters' projects. Projects included a statewide installation of video teleconferencing hardware, network and software; development of new systems for installation in state trooper automobiles; interfaces between various software and hardware platforms allowing upgraded communications between troops throughout New York state; and a system upgrade for headquarters to track internal financials. Also helped establish a Project Management Office and provided baseline measurement metrics to track all NYS Police projects.
Ajilon Consulting (Sr. Project Manager) July 2005 - October 2005
Served as the Project Manager for the New York State Department of Taxation & Finance. Project objective was to complete a thorough performance test on a new release of a web-based front-end mainframe application. Major responsibilities included coordinating and scheduling tests, interacting with various technical and systems groups within the client site to identify problems and gain swift resolution and communicating timely status and results reports. Executed NYS project management methodology including completing a full risk assessment, project planning, status reporting, issues management, change management, quality assurance techniques and deliverables acceptance.
