Proposed and developed an interdisciplinary project between the School of Law and the School of Business at Western New England University to provide legal and business services to low-income entrepreneurs, host educational events for the community, and establish a resource center for small businesses. Materially participated in development efforts resulting in the award of three grants totaling $1.6 million. Materially participated in Congressional appropriations request resulting in $100,000 funding for microfinance lending project. Manage the Law and Business Center, support the Small Business Clinic, assist in programming, marketing, and community outreach. Oversee the budget for Center activities, including resource center acquisitions, travel, conferences, and programming. Work with Advancement Office to make calls on prospective donors and to develop grant proposals. During 2011-12 academic year will work with representatives of the University’s Colleges of Engineering, Arts & Sciences, Business and Pharmacy to support entrepreneurship across the campus.

Member of the corporate/commercial department of a 60+ attorney law firm with national, regional, and local clients. Practice regularly included advising entrepreneurs on matters of business organization, business planning, and business acquisitions. Significant work involving securities law, commercial lending, and banking regulatory matters. Exceptional projects included participating in the representation of: Georgia-Pacific as Maine counsel in its hostile tender offer for Great Northern Nekoosa; American Home Products in its takeover of American Cyanamid; Suffield Financial Corporation against its own Maine banking subsidiary which was attempting to gain independence; and establishing First NH Bank of Maine, a de novo state-chartered bank under Maine's interstate banking law.
