Job History / Details:

I am a focused, results-oriented sales leader in the Consumer Electronics and Security Channel markets. I have enjoyed repeated success in guiding the sales teams I recruited, organized, managed and inspired to develop and increase the sales of technology products, both established and new to the market I serve.

A principle in business development that has had significant meaning to me in shaping my career is products and services are sold by well trained people who convince others of the benefits they will enjoy from them. It`s all about people and their satisfaction that produces the sales results my company wants.

My most recent work was with Cernium Corporation as Sales Director, September 2010 through December 2012. Cernium is an innovator of video analytics as applied to CCTV in security markets: aviation, commercial, residential. I first managed sales for the Archerfish brand, securing partnership at Amazon.com, Fry`s Electronics and other major retail institutions. In 2011, I moved to the CheckVideo Division, working directly with integrators, alarm dealers and central station monitoring companies. I created and managed the education and sales growth of 300-plus partners to sell CheckVideo products and services.

As VP-Sales & Marketing for Swann Communications USA (main office in Melbourne, Australia)) from 2003 through 2010, I recruited a team of 10 independent sales representatives to launch and develop the retail market for home and small business surveillance products. Gross sales grew from $3 million the first year to $24 million within the first three years of our market development.

Key accounts I opened and managed for Swann were: RadioShack, RadioShack Franchise, RadioShack Mexico, Ritz Camera Stores, Amazon.com, Circuit City, Micro Center Stores and Big Lots. I also opened a number of secondary regional accounts that served our growth well.

As new competitors entered the marketplace my focus shifted from building new accounts to expansion of sales volume within the current account base. My innovative training methods and management of promotions helped Swann hold their market share position while growing revenues an average of 20% per annum over the next three years.

I also managed refurbished goods at Swann, establishing new partnerships with key reverse logistics organizations such as Liverpool Enterprises, Segue Corporation and Recovery Management. Controlling where product was sold in this channel led to a 55% improvement in margin attainment.

As Sales Director for RF-Link Technology (a Taiwanese manufacturer) from 1998 through 2000, I launched the first 2.4 GHz wireless camera kit and achieved sales of $3 million in the first year after its launch. My sales team of 12 independent sales representatives secured five more sku`s into the marketplace over a 2-year period with gross sales of $5 million for this company.

Earlier in my career I held positions with Hitachi (an international Japanese corporation) as National Trainer and National Product Manager; this from 1993 through 1998. My skills at presenting technology in everyday language helped Hitachi set record sales on its Hi-8 camcorder line, Ultravision projection TV line and video recorders. I published a white paper on CCD sensors teaching sales personnel how to look at specs correctly; concentrate on density of pixel arrangement rather than pixel count. This was used successfully by Circuit City sales personnel to increase Hitachi camcorder sales against Sony by 45%.

The passion and enthusiasm for technology products that I bring to sales teams was born in my family`s retail TV & Appliance store as a commissioned sales person. It was nurtured in the specialty A/V store my brother and I established. For ten years, between 1982 and 1992, I honed my skills on every phase of running a successful business, front and back room.

My business development education is well rounded; from sales floor to executive office. I bring that education, energy and passion to your team!
