EXECUTIVE RESUME

Dr. CHOONG WENG WAI is the Deputy Director (Marketing) of Centre for Real Estate

Studies (CRES) and a senior lecturer in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He received his

Bachelor s honor degree and PhD from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. He is awarded

PhD without Master s degree for his excellent performance in research and academic,

also the winner of Chancellor Award. He specializes in energy management, behavioural

study, social acceptance and real estate marketing . His research activities are focused

on the fostering energy conservation behavior, creating environmental and health

awareness, real estate marketing and studying of social acceptance. Dr. Choong has

been appointed as the advisor and trainer for the industry and government agencies,

such as the advisor for AEMAS Energy Manager Training Course and evaluator for

Malaysian valuation professionalism. Recently, he has been appointed as the technical

committee to establish Environmental Performance Index (EPI) as an ind icator for the

quality of environment for Malaysia. He is a certified Energy Manager

(MGTC/CEM/2/003) from ASEAN Energy Management Accreditation Scheme, also a

registered member of Environmental Management and Research Association of Malaysia

(ENSEARCH), Malaysian Association of Facilities Management (MAFM), editorial

member of Malaysian Journal of Real Estate and a member of Malaysia Energy

Professional Association (MEPA). He is ambitious and actively involved in promoting

and creating sustainable lifestyle among Malaysian communities and has been

interviewed in newspaper, magazine and radio station for his works.
