Vice President, Finance

On-Q-ity is a development stage, venture-backed life sciences company dedicated to the

improvement of cancer patient outcomes by enhancing drug development and enabling

clinicians to confidently tailor and evolve treatment decisions through the development

and commercialization of a diagnostic platform to capture and characterize circulating

tumor cells from blood.

As a key member of the senior management team, the position involved direction of all

financial activities, implementation of internal financial controls, planning, budgeting and

forecasting, management of commercial and investment banking relationships, provision

of financial advice to research and operations groups and interaction with venture

investors.

GTC Biotherapeutics, Inc. (1989 2010)

GTC (formerly Genzyme Transgenics Corporation) is the world leader in the production

of human therapeutic proteins in the milk of transgenic animals. GTC was spun out of

Genzyme Corporation as a stand alone public company in 1993. In 1994, GTC acquired

TSI Corporation (later renamed Primedica Corporation). Primedica, a multinational

contract research organization with $50 million in revenues, 7 operating units and 600+

employees, was divested in 2001.

Established stand-alone financial, accounting, human resources, information

technology and facilities following Genzyme spin out.

Raised nearly $300 million in external financings to fund development of GTCs

products and technology.

Key role in contractual negotiations on three external partnerships, generating over

$36 million in revenue from 2006 - 2010.

Directed implementation of effective budgeting and forecasting systems that

facilitated effective cost controls, accurate forecasts and expenses consistently

within budget.

Managed three significant corporate restructurings; the most recent, in 2009,

reduced operating expenses by approximately $6 million on an annual basis.

Responsible for integration and management of all finance and administration

functions of TSI into GTC, including treasury, debt financing, facilities and human

resources.

Implemented and managed the consolidation, financial reporting and control system

for seven operating divisions in the US and UK.

Led negotiations to divest Primedica to Charles River Labs in 2001.

Directed implementation of systems to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley, which were

instituted on time and maintained without any reportable exception thereafter.

technology company, including long range planning, budgeting and forecasting for

the consolidated operations.

Restructured and implemented a new consolidation system for EG&Gs worldwide

operations.

Designed and implemented financial reporting systems to streamline forecasting and

management financial reporting of EG&Gs consolidated operations reducing the

turnaround time for financial results from days to hours.
