Overall work experience has been with Armed Forces and Veterans including their families. The settings
have included 4 Department of Veterans Affairs Hospitals working with psychiatric/behavioral medicine
involving substance abuse, PTSD, major depression, anxiety/panic attack disorders, schizophrenia,

Provided clinical Therapeutic Recreation continuum of care services as member of multi-disciplinary
treatment team on psychiatric "5150"/Voluntary (CBM) Center for Behavioral Medicine of 24 beds ( about
24-40 hours/week ), involving patient interviews/assessments, and the creative implementation of an
individualized treatment plan based on psycho-social
emotional, cultural, physical, spiritual and networking needs of the individual. Based on
input by treatment team members and collaboration of clinicians, an interactive group dynamics program
was presented as subject matter life skill areas in a creative, proactive
milieu using educational, recreational and lifestyle choices to promote patient enthusiasm
for well-being, health, empowerment, participation/functioning at enhanced quality of life
and self actualization. Some of those groups included: Self Care, Energized Living, Games,
Goals, Boundaries, Journaling, Community Resources, Crafts, Music/Karaoke, Stress/Anger

acute psychiatric unit at the Hemet Valley Medical Center from April 2004 through November 2007.
December 2007, was transferred to the Moreno Valley Community Hospital after closure of Hemet
Behavioral Health Unit. Functioned as clinical member of multi-disciplinary treatment team with duties
of patient assessment/interview, using medical record documentation, and treatment team consultation
to develop a comprehensive customized patient treatment plan to provide interactive educational,
recreational, motivational, lifestyle skills as therapeutic interventions to reduce stress, provide adequate
coping skills, energized living when dealing with the negative effects and symptoms of mental illness.
