Accomplishments

I started working as a laborer on projects here and there over the years, but didn't think at the time it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Further down the road I moved to Phoenix in 2003 and soon things began to change. I got a job as a laborer on the demolition of a burned out home in Paradise Valley not long after I got here. Something felt different for me this time on this job site. I decided almost from day one to make construction my life long career and love. I was working for the general contractor of the job. As I worked digging ditches, and other general labor, my boss began to advance me slowly up the ladder. A new home was planned to be built on the same property as the old burned out home. I was given the opportunity to build a brand new custom home from the dirt up. My first skill to be earned was framing, which to this day is one of my proudest accomplishments. It was the experience that gave me my love for working with wood. Since the end of that project I have come up through the ranks in many different areas of construction and ultimately ended up working for that general contractor for almost nine years. I am teachable and still love learning new things in construction. I am proud of the career I have carved out for myself. And believe it or not, going to work is actually still kind of exciting.
