background in safety, loss control and risk management in both the Public and Private Sector
through my Project Management background in the Environmental Industry. As Project
Manager, I also acted in the capacity of Safety Officer for all projects including chemical plants
and refineries..
At Crane Plumbing’s manufacturing plant in Hondo, TX., I held the positions of Environmental
Department Manager, Industrial Engineer, and as the Safety Officer for a three hundred man site.
With Vanguard Contractors, I was the Site Safety Officer for a major Homeland Security project
overseen by the US Army Corp of Engineers. I have been responsible for health and safety,
environmental issues for up to a three hundred-man workforce.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and I am
comfortable working with state, federal and local agencies, particularly OSHA, NFPA, NSC and
Texas Labor Code.
I am familiar with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
presentations. I am comfortable working with Lotus 1-2-3, and Symphony.
I spent four years in oil field inspections as a unit manager.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Full control (all aspects, including Planning, Implementation and Safety) of projects with:
1 City Public Service, San Antonio, TX – 1995-1997-Three year contract. This contract involved
remediation of hazardous materials at the San Antonio power plants. I conducted safety meetings,
monitored exposure, heat stress and sound levels. I also determined the appropriate Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) based on exposure levels and the physical limitations of the site. One lost man-day to
injury in three years with a one hundred (100)-man crew.
2 Alcoa Aluminum Corporation Rockdale, TX- 1998. – One year contract for inspection of
Hazardous Materials and Health and Safety Concerns. The features of this contract entailed setting up
a field laboratory for identification and analysis of suspect hazardous materials; visiting each area of
the facility to determine safety concerns inherent in the physical properties of the facility and the
manner in which the work was performed. Submittals for corrections to problem areas. This contract
was completed six(6) months ahead of schedule.
3 Military Bases – Special Projects Manager. Addressing safety and environmental concerns as the
military’s Liaison to contract companies. Monitoring air quality inside and outside work areas.
Military contracts varied in duration and scope from inspecting fifteen hundred (1500) buildings at
Fort Hood Army Base and supervising the demolition of an aircraft hangar at Lackland Air Force
Base.
4 Schools – Project Manager/Safety for investigations, proposals for corrections and monitoring the site
until work is complete. Although all projects are performed to the same exacting standards, schools are
also regulated by Federal guidelines.
5 Hospitals–Special projects to determine the source and cause of contamination utilizing a variety of
sampling and investigative techniques.
6 LVI Supervisor, New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina.-2005-2006 My services were requested in the
aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, LA. Onsite I supervised a team of one hundred
environmental professionals in biological clean-up. My number one priority on each site was the
health and safety of my team.
7 Crane Plumbing Vitreous China Manufacturing Plant, Hondo, TX- 2006-2008 -Industrial
Engineer/Safety Officer/Environmental Department Head - As Industrial Engineer, I was responsible
for all time and motion studies and setting the pay rates for incentive employees. As Safety Officer, my
duties involved the safety training, ordering and maintaining of Personal protective Equipment (PPE)
and following all OSHA regulations. As Environmental Manager, I was tasked with rebuilding of a
long-neglected department and the clean up of the exterior of the plant in accordance with state and
federal regulations. My first duty was to respond to two year old Notice of Violations (NOV) from
OSHA and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). I was able to accomplish this
without any fines or probationary periods. Aside from the obvious benefits of improved safety and
environmental programs, the company noticed an increase in morale and company pride.
8 Vanguard Contractors, 2008-2009-Site Safety Officer - Homeland Security Project with the added
responsibility of Environmental Management. I also assisted with Quality Control as needed.
