(TAM Ceramics, Inc. Niagara Falls, NY acquired in 1999 and Cleveland, OH to

2009)

Ferro's electronic materials business develops, manufactures and markets

high-purity engineered powders, pastes, and tapes for many electronic

applications, including multilayer ceramic capacitors, semicondictor

passivation, hybrid microelectronics, and front/back end material for solar

panel applications. The products are manufactured at facilities in Uden,

The Netherlands; Hanau, Germany; Haverhill, United Kingdom; Tsukuba, Japan;

Suzhou, China; South Plainfield, NJ; Penn Yan, NY; Cleveland, OH; and

Vista, CA.

Global Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (2001-2009)

Provided EHS leadership for 10 manufacturing facilities in the U.S.,

Europe, and Asia. The role facilitated a consistent approach toward EHS

compliance and programs at all EMS locations worldwide.

Designed and implemented EHS programs for global business unit locations

that were lacking existing programs, or required an update of existing

programs - resulted in continued drop in injury rates and excellent

compliance records.

Ferro Corporation - Electronic Material Systems (continued)

Served as a global EHS leadership resource for all sites on EHS compliance

issues and concerns, 24/7/365 resulting in significant drop in injury rates

and regulatory compliance concerns.

Extensive recent experience in China- EHS oversight of new building

construction and startup of a new solar paste operation. Provided EHS

guidance and direction to the site located in Suzhou, including training,

development of procedures, and action plans to meet site and business EHS

targets.

Participated in a safety intervention at a U.S. location, performing pre-

startup safety reviews for each operational process. Retrained all site

employees; managed day-to-day compliance until new Safety and Environmental

managers were recruited and hired.

Represented Ferro during inspections by the EPA, state, and local agencies,

assuring company interests and positions were properly represented,

resulting in an excellent compliance record.

Conducted EHS inspections of Ferro EMS locations. Worked directly with

site plant managers and EHS managers in preparing for corporate EHS audits.

Coordinated follow-up resulting from inspections and corporate EHS audits.

Results were continued reduction in employee injuries, regulatory

inspections with minimal findings, and minor, manageable internal audit

findings.

Developed a database system that allows efficient and complete responses to

customer inquiries on EHS aspects of products such as TSCA, (US), RoHS (EU,

China, and Korea), and REACH (EU). This resulted in expedited responses to

the customer.

Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager (1999-2001)

Managed all EHS compliance and management activities for the Ferro EMS

Niagara Falls facility.

Directed day-to-day EHS compliance, including major programs such as Title

V, RCRA large quantity generator, SARA 311 and 313, indirect wastewater

discharge, DOT, OSHA lead standard.

Designed and installed a 150,000 gpd wastewater treatment system,

significantly reducing wastewater bills from the City POTW

Reduced lost-time injuries from 11 in 1999 to 0 in 2007 by vigorously

leading and promoting employee training and execution of EHS policies and

programs.

Negotiated the original and renewal Title V air emission operating permit

with the New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation. There were no

fines or penalties due to non-compliance, since the permit was first in

force in December 1998. The site was a major source of NOx and

particulates.

Arranged for and provided EHS training to site employees, resulting in

continued reduction in injury rate.

TAM Ceramics, Inc., Niagara Falls, NY (1989-1999)

Manufacturer of high purity engineered powders serving global electronic,

opacifier, and weld rod markets; acquired by Ferro in 1999.

Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager

Managed all EHS reporting and management activities for the TAM Ceramics

Niagara Falls facility.

Ensured that all necessary EHS permits were acquired in a timely fashion

and that the site complied with the terms and conditions of each permit.

Designed and installed a solids separation unit as the back end of the

site's wastewater treatment system. The unit included polymer addition, an

inclined plate clarifier, and plate and frame filter press, reducing solids

loading to the municipal sewer authority by 60%.

Conducted injury management for all work related injuries, including

worker's compensation reducing loss experience and insurance rates by

$700,000.

Prepared an application for a radioactive materials license application for

the generation of a low level radioactive ash generated in the high purity

zirconia process. Negotiated the terms of the license with the New York

State Dept. of Labor. License was successfully granted.

Arranged for and delivered EHS training to site employees, minimizing

injury rates.
