a)Name of the Project: Fixed Gas Platform (FGP)
Project Description: FGP is an entire product line for security
products which consist of typical instruments for Gas Detection and
Enunciating hazardous scenarios. In this FlexVu UD10/UD20 are fixed
display panels that have capability of taking user inputs and display
parameters on to screen.
Modbus and HART protocols used for monitoring 4-20 mA base digital
current loop as well as providing super visioning interface to
automation application and other Field instruments like 375 Field
communicator
Platform: MSP430FG4618 (A TI Based Microcontroller)
Tools: IAR Embedded Workbench
Achievements included:
Learnt the basics of MSP430 family of TI microcontrollers, HART
protocol and BootStrapLoader for MSP430F5438.
Software Programmer / Cellar Network Controller

a) Name of the Project: Telematics Control Unit (TCU) development
Project Description: The project is about having a Telematics System
which comprises a central Operations Center and Control unit (CU). The
Operations Center is the system hub. It consists of wireless
communication infrastructure that provides for voice and data
communications with the CU, a Service Center that supports value-added
Telematics services, and a Network Management System (NMS). The TCU is
the in-vehicle component that facilitates the communications between
the multiplicity of vehicles and the network. It contains a Global
System for Mobile Communications (GSM) handheld chipset for voice and
data communications and a Global Positioning System (GPS) chipset to
support location based services.
Platform: Linux (fedora 6), C
Tools: gcc, gdb, gcov
Achievements included:
Worked as a team member in a 20 people team
Worked on various modules of the TCU that interact with the Cellular
Network Controller and als with the Vehicle Interface.
Contributed to Coding, Unit testing, Sub-System Integration.
Worked extensively on multithreaded applications on linux platform.
Participated in System Integration at the client side Hughes Network
Systems, MD, USA.
b) Name of the Project: Femtocell BTS development
Project Description: A Femtocell BTS prototype developed for PSN - Iu
over IP architecture (3GPP).
Platform: Linux (fedora 6), C
Tools: gcc, gdb
Achievements included:
Worked as a team member in a 4 people team
Acquired knowledge of 3G- RANAP stack
Developed RANAP stack for Control plane interface
Developed APIs for RANAP interfacing with SIGTRAN stack.
Led the development activities.
C) Name of the Project: SBSS (Satellite Base Station Sub-System)
Project Description: The SBSS Project develops Mobile Satellite
functionalities to be used by two major Hughes Network Systems Clients,
MSV and Terrestar. As a part of a 40 member MSV team I worked for the
Satellite Adaptation Gateway (SAG) module.
Satellite Adaptation Gateway implements TCP Performance Enhancing Proxy
(PEP), UMTS Satellite adapted Packet Data Convergence layer (PDCP) and
Convergence Sublayer to integrate PEP/PDCP with the 3GPP GTP-U
protocol. The large propagation delay of a geostationary satellite
link, as in Mobile SAT network, limits application performance. The TCP
PEP is used to enhance data transmission performance over the Satellite
link for Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
PDCP implements protocol header compression using ROHC and IPHC RFC
standards. It also implements zero-byte header compression for VOIP
packets.
Platform: Linux (fedora 6), C
Tools: gcc, gdb
Achievements included:
Worked as a team member in a 5 people team
Acquired knowledge of TCP PEP and VoIP
Developed software for configuration part of the project and test
driver in C using socket
Developed integration test plan document for the entire system
Led the integration testing
d) Name of the Project: SBSS (Satellite Base Station Sub-System)
Project Description: The SBSS Project develops Mobile Sat
functionalities to be used by two major HNS USA Clients, MSV and
Terrestar.
This particular project involved testing 3GPP RNC protocol stack using
the Tektronix K1297-G35 Protocol Tester which emulates/simulates the
SGSN/GGSN/HLR functionality.
Platform: Windows XP, forth scripting language
Tools: K1297-G35 Core Network Simulator from Tektronix
Achievements included:
Executed this project on client side (HNS, USA)
Initially acquired knowledge on 3GPP SGSN/GGSN and RNC architecture and
protocols specially RANAP and GTP-U
Led the entire activities
Generated and tested emulation and simulation scenario scripts for RNCS
and SGSN simulation test cases both for control plane and data plane
successfully.
e) Name of the Project: SBSS (Satellite Base Station Sub-System)
Project Description: The SBSS Project develops Mobile Sat
functionalities to be used by two major HNS USA Clients, MSV and
Terrestar. I took lead on TCP PEP MIB subagent development under
NetSNMP architecture for Hughes Network Systems, USA client.
Platform: Linux (Fedora 6), C, C++
Tools: Mib2c parser, NetSNMP commands tool, gcc
Achievements included:
Executed this project on client side (HNS, USA)
Led the entire development and testing activities
f) Name of the Project: Fresher's Training project at Hughes Systique
Project Description: Development of Peer to Peer Message Exchange
Protocol for Layer 2 connectivity based Chatroom
Platform: Linux (fedora 6), C
Tools: Gcc, Ethereal
Achievements included:
Coding and testing fragmentation/reassembly modules.
Awards: Awarded the Best Project Integration Team award for the L2 Chatroom
Project
as a training project at Hughes Systique, 2007
