Network Engineer/Systems Analyst
Maintain/administrate a number of Telecommunication Element Management
System (EMS) Applications. The application clients users would use them to
remotely monitor alarms and access the software of different types of
equipment out in the network (OC-12, OC-48, and OC-192, etc Also as an
application administrator it involved being a main contact point for
customer support for all application users from helping users install
client applications, to customer user training of the different
applications.
. EMS Applications included were: On-Center (CIENA), Netsmart 1500
(Fujitsu), Megasys (Telenium, OpenVMS OS), 7194 EMS (Tellabs), and
Preside (Nortel).
. Some duties as administrator included maintaining/ensuring daily
server/application backups, installing application and client on
server(s) and user PC's, upgrades and or updates/patches for applications
including server OS.
. Involved, as an administrator of the EMS applications, Duties included
troubleshooting of applications issues with some IT work on server
hardware and an understanding of a server UNIX OS software. And also have
some working knowledge with OpenVMS servers.
. With users of the applications using it for Telecommunication devices, as
application administrators had to also have some understanding of
different telecommunication devices and how they worked within the
network, for example: TL1 commands, and IP addressing.
. Some of the Servers with experience are: SUN Enterprise, SUN SunFire
V240, SUN V490, HP.
. Administrated EMS applications running on 20 different servers and over
800 application users worldwide using the EMS applications for different
functions and equipment.

Halcyon Communication, Tulsa, Ok. 1992-

Engineer
Halcyon Communication operated multiple Cable Television (CATV) systems
across the country. As the Engineer, my responsibilities were to work
closely with each of the local CATV Technicians of the CATV systems
implementing any technical changes/updates to the CATV systems.
. Maintaining CATV systems comply with the FCC.
. Worked with all the local CATV systems with growth of the CATV in
their areas.
. Interfaced between technical and non-technical personnel in the field
at the corporation level.

Maintenance Engineer/Managing Engineer
As Maintenance Engineer my responsible were to maintain television
equipment as which included: Studio Production, On Air Control Room, and
Station Transmitter equipment. As Managing Engineer my responsibilities
were managing the Technical Department including staff of the Television
station.
. Some Television equipment responsible for were: Studio Cameras, VTR's
and VTP's, and Harris Television Transmitter.
. Worked with different test equipment including: Waveform Monitor,
Vectorscope, Signal Generator, VOM, DVM, and Oscilloscope.
. Perform weekly maintenance on transmitter.
. Substitute a shift when needed for On-Air Master Control Operator
. As Managing Engineer responsible for keeping the Television Station in
compliance with the government agencies: FCC and FAA.
. Work closely with non-technical personnel of the station (Station
Owners, General Manager, Sales, etc.)
. Maintain a yearly operating budget.
