consistent and dedicated hard work.
Work Experience:
APEX TECHNOLOGY Systems
(Since June 2007)
Sofware Engingeer
Project 1
MAC/VLAN/PB bridging support added to OBX-FPI based on IEEE std
802.1D,802.1Q, 802.1ad standards.
Description: Added fast path code necessary to implement various Ethernet
switch functional blocks like STP, VLAN based MAC learning and forwarding
databases, filtering database, policing, priority remapping, Configurable
Control Protocol behavior (Snoop/Forward/Drop) and Quality of Services
(QoS) features in accordance to IEEE std 802.1D, 802.1Q and 802.1ad.
Responsibilities: Responsible for design and implementation and guiding the
other two team members.
Project 2
Layer 3 (IPv4) module support in OBX-FPI, used for Small Gateways.
Description: This module supports various IP functionalities useful for
building Small Medium Business Gateways (SMBG). The main functionalities
are, basic IP header validation, 5-touple <SrcIP, DstIP, Proto, SrcPort,
DstPort> based IP packets forwarding, TCP stateful firewall, UDP/IP
fragments forwarding in fast path, IP Address and TCP/UDP port translation
(NAT/NAPT), fragmentation of the IP packets based on MTU size.
Responsibilities: Responsible for requirements specification, design and
Implementation.
Project 3
MAC and Ethernet PHY configuration APIs.
Description: This module is a set of APIs needed for configuring the MAC
block in APP3/3K chip variants. And also provided set of APIs for
configuring the PHY devices connected to APP3/3K through MDIO bus. MAC
configuration APIs supports in set/get the Speed, duplexity, Rx and Tx flow
control and Jumbo frame capabilities of the MAC blocks. And PHY
configuration APIs, supports in set/get the speed, duplexity, auto-
negotiation parameters of the PHY device connected to APP3/3K MAC block.
Responsibilities: design and implementation.
Project 4
VLAN based Ingress/Egress Port mirroring and Link Aggregation support based
on IEEE std. 802.3ad.
Description: Port mirroring feature supports the mirroring of the selected
traffic (ingress and/or egress) in the system to any of other interface
based on interface or interface and VLAN combination. In case of Link
aggregation, the functional blocks Frame collector/distributor and
Parser/Multiplexer implemented as part of FPI. The parser block separates
control frames and data frames. The control frames will be handover to
control application and data packets will be switched in the fastpath.
Responsibilities: Responsible for requirements specification, design and
implementation.
Project 5
WAN module support in OBX-FPI to support PPP, HDLC protocols termination
and TDM PWE based on MEF8.
Description: Added fastpath code to terminate PPP and HDLC over T1/E1 and
also TDM PWE based on MEF8 standard. This module is designed by assuming
that the framing and T1/E1 line termination will be handled by LSI's Link
Layer Processor (LLP). Incase of TDM Pseudo Wire Emulation over Metro
Ethernet, ECDX (Emulated Circuit De/Multiplexing Function) and EFTF
(Ethernet Flow Termination Function) functional blocks are implemented in
OBX-FPI and rest of the functional blocks are supported by LLP.
Responsibilities: Responsible for requirements specification, design and
lead the other team member.
Project 6
OBX-FPI Fastpath code optimization to improve the L2 forwarding data rate
from 300Mbps to 550Mbps for 64Bytes size packets.
Description: The main goal of this work is to improve the data rate to
maximum possible value. The work started with the initial data rate of
300Mbps and achieved 550Mbps, for 64-bytes size packets, after optimizing
the fastpath code.
Responsibilities: complete optimization.
