EXPERIENCE
Bank of America, Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, Pittsford, NY (07/2007 -
07/2009)
The nation's leading financial services provider.
Financial Advisor
Achievements:
Registered representative delivering asset management to a wide variety of clients
including working professionals, retirees, business owners and high net worth
individuals while focusing on preserving capital in the worst recession since the
Great Depression. Use of high-quality corporate and municipal fixed income, variable
annuities and alternative investments to hedge against the downside and consistently
outperform the capital markets by more than 30%.
Xerox Corporation, Webster, NY (2/1984 - 12/2006)
The world's leading document management technology and services enterprise with more
than 57,000 employees and annual revenues in excess of $17B.
Technical Specialist / Program Manager II (03/1998 - 12/2006)
Technical Specialist / Program Manager III (03/1993 - 03/1998)
Achievements:
Developed curriculum and delivered a 13 hour course to 21 product development
engineers and designers. The course raised design & engineering critical skills to
successfully develop, simulate and interpret results of 3D mechanical system models
using visualNastran Motion Desktop.
Senior member of a team of simulation experts in the CAE Competency Center, delivering
advanced Mechanical Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) modeling & simulation consulting
services, training and technical guidance to more than 300 members of product
development teams. Championed the sharing of finite element analysis and mechanical
system simulation best practices in electro-mechanical and opto-mechanical design with
the global Xerox engineering community through technical "lunch & learn" seminars and
workshops. Fostered model re-use for reduce cycle time on product variants
Promoted the sharing and capture of best practices in Modeling & Simulation throughout
the Xerox design and engineering community worldwide, including Simulation Data
Management for downstream reuse. Presented results of Mechanical System Simulation
consulting work at the annual Xerox Modeling & Simulation Workshop.
Guided the development of process definitions ranging from basic component and
system-level modeling and simulation to advanced multi-disciplinary, integrated
structural, thermal, motion and fluid flow analyses for Xerox designers and engineers
worldwide. Drove the development of world CAE methodologies and tools. Orchestrated
the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team of engineers charged with developing the CAE
work process and best practices fueling improved profitability and cash flow.
Developed course curriculum and delivered hands-on training courses and ongoing
coaching in Mathematica, MSC.ADAMS, Recurdyn Professional, visualNastran Motion
Desktop and Working Model 2D to more than 300 Xerox Designers and Engineers. Improved
effective use of these predictive engineering tools, improving competitive product
delivery.
Supported the 2004 "Bring Your Child To Work" day, demonstrating the Xerox Innovation
experience. Developed a computer-based parametric model of a mousetrap dragster race
car, correlating the virtual-prototype with a Design-of-Experiments matrix of actual
hardware prototype builds by several teams of children. Major contributing design
factors were identified using the process and the best design (which traveled the
farthest in a mousetrap dragster race) was predicted using the computer-based model.
Event was aimed at attracting youth into science and technology careers.
Senior Project Engineer (03/1990 - 03/1993)
Achievements:
Developed technical strategy, business model, infrastructure architecture and
specifications enabling the migration of CAD/CAE Engineering workstations from Unix
operating system to Intel/Windows architecture. Captured significant long-term savings
of more than $1000 per workstation while lowering total cost of ownership and
dramatically improving price/performance and productivity at the workstation by 20%.
Designed and developed value-added and integrated CAD design software tools used by
CAD designers and product development team engineers worldwide. Both design tools were
completed and delivered with zero defects two weeks ahead of schedule and achieving a
worldwide Xerox design and engineering community Customer Satisfaction index of >95%.
The Pulley belt design tool enabled designers and engineers to design complex
serpentine belt drives for high-speed printers, calculating total belt length, span
lengths and pulley wrap angles and place the belt geometry into the 3D CAD model file.
The Xerox Multinational Producibility Preferred Design Standards tool enabled
designers to select and place full 3D models of standard fastening hardware and
mechanical components from standard hardware and components libraries into the 3D CAD
model file.
Served as a key member of the CAE Competency Center, driving the development and
deployment of world class methodologies and PLM tools strategically aligned with
organizational goals of improved profitability and cash flow.
Early career success with Xerox Corporation in roles including Project Engineer,
Engineer and Associate Engineer
