Felix Storch, Inc. – Bronx, New York (November 2008 – Present}

Controller reporting to the founder of the company as well as the Chief Operating Offer responsible for the

daily/monthly bank reporting as well as the Human Resources administration and implementation of a computerized

ERP system.

Accomplishments:

Initiated a system to set up new accounts by using facsimile correspondence as well as Dun and Bradstreet reports to

verify credit history as well as sending letters to new accounts outlining their credit limits,

Consultant – Completed temporary assignment as Controller for a $20mm, painting contractor, was responsible for

helping to complete the annual financial statement audit, formulation of the annual budget as well as the day to day

running of the accounting department.

Currently Controller but was originally hired as the Accounting Manager of this $17 Mil. Distributor of high end skin

care products to the retail, spa and medical markets.

Responsible for annual audit with outside firm, accounts receivable/payable, cash management and banking, statement

preparation including Cost of Goods Sold, corporate taxes (state, federal, sales tax) and the corporate casualty

insurance program. Four direct reports.

Accomplishments:

Automated sales tax collection and reporting process by better utilization of Navision Software, as well filed several

years of back sales tax returns for California successfully having penalties removed,

Member of team that was setting standards for our manufacturered as well as purchased products,

department to file Federal, local and Canadian taxes. Prepared the monthly reports to Corporate as well as local

Management; tracking the achievement of operational goals and metrics.

• Managed the accounts receivable aging to 85% below 45days,

• Was successful in obtaining from New York State grant money ($110K) for training as well as ISO 9001

implementation,

• Helped to reduce outstanding commitments to purchase materials by $.5MM.

Universal Voltronics Corp. – Mount Kisco, New York (1998 2000)

Chief Financial Officer/ Controller – Small electronics manufacturer

Oversee and control all financial functions of this $5mm, ISO 9001, manufacturer of high voltage power supplies for the

OEM, scientific and commercial market place. Issued monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP, business

analysis for local management and the board of director’s presentations. Responsible for obtaining, on an annual basis,

a non qualified opinion from the outside Big Five audit firm.

• Member of the corporate steering committee which selected and implemented the Y2K ERP solution,

• Negotiated a secured line of credit with a major New York middle market bank for

$1mm as well as a lease line for capital acquisition,

• Helped to negotiate the final purchase price adjustment for the assets acquired by the management buyout, creating a

high six figure one time savings,

• Cut cost by about 30% for insurance and telephone service as well as helped to contain cost for the employee benefit

program by moving to another carrier.

Independent Consultant (1997 1998)

Acted as a temporary controller for a not for profit organization responsible for the day to day activities of cash

management, payroll, accounts payable and the monthly reporting of fund activities. Prepared annual budget for

approval by the board of directors as well as completed the annual audit and the Form 5500 filing.

preparation of the annual audit, filing of corporate tax returns including Form 5500 for the defined benefits plans,

treasury function including risk management, issuing of monthly statements and the administration of the employee

benefit plans. There were three reports, two professional and one clerical.

• Secured a $1mm line of credit from two separate sources.

• Instituted monthly accounts receivable management reports reviewing all accounts sixty days and over for collection

and successfully collected stale accounts from the government by preparing and forwarding the proper paperwork,

• Successfully reduced the casualty insurance cost by 30% and negotiated a three year premium rate. Purchased a

community rated point of service health plan, contributory long term disability, and established a Sec. 125 plan with

flexible spending accounts,

• Renegotiated an insurance claim getting three times more than the original proposed settlement. ($300,000)

and the proxy statement. Divisional responsibilities included monthly financial statement preparation, preparation of the

annual budget, as well as updates and the filing of the annual overhead cost submission to the Administrative

Contracting Officer (ACO).
