• Worked as a community organizer at St. Louis Community College at Meramec nurturing students to become politically
active. Developing their actions to be self-directed and governed to work on local and national issues such as affordable education,
academic free speech, and global-warming.
• Oversaw internship programs, through which students earned academic course credit for public interest research and
advocacy.
• During the summer months Campus Organizers run the highly effective citizen outreach campaigns and are the Director of
their local canvassing office.

• Chosen from a competitive pool of student applicants.
• Mentoring a cohort of incoming students from area high schools who primarily qualified for developmental courses to prepare
for a college level academic environment in order to increase student success and retention.

• Selected by professor based on excellent class performance and ability to explain concepts well to fellow students and
assisting them through the more challenging portions of the course.
• Responsibilities Included leading three weekly group sessions for the entirety of the semester consisting of four to seven
students and based on the material presented in class and according to student need.

RESEARCH
Project SMART (Study of Memory and Age-Related Tractography): Principle Investigator: Rob Paul
• This study is funded by NIH-NINDS and involves a five-year investigation of biological and neurological markers of “normal
aging”. The study examined the integrity of the white matter in older individuals in the context of genetic vulnerability to
microvascular disease. The study includes quantified diffusion tractography, MRI morphometry and quantified white matter
hypertensities.
• Personal responsibilities included administering a neuropsychological battery (RBANS, Stroop, MOCA, Grooved Pegboard,
Figure copy, ect.), and research subject pre-qualification and coordination.

• Various positions held: State Board Chair Spring 2005-2007, Chapter Chair 2005-2007, Vice Chair Fall 2005, Head of
Campus Climate Challenge, Head of New Voters Project funded by The Pew Charitable Trust, Head of Higher Education an
effort to lower student debt.
