Scale Hotels
Responsible for the implementation of Human Resource policy and procedure
for 130 (Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites) Hotels.
Project work included merging policy and procedure manuals of two
companies, educating hotels on new manual out and ensuring the
implementation at each location. Daily duties included answering concerns
on a company wide employee resolution phone line, benefit, payroll, and
compensation for all levels of employee - housekeepers to general managers.
Other responsibilities including EEOC responses, on-site investigations,
benefit implementation and on-site audits.

Assisted company in upstart and then assisted in streamlining. Responsible
for recruiting/staffing (all levels), created an orientation session,

Responsible for employee relations' issues for 88 properties (located
Michigan to Maine down to Florida), 1500 employees. Direct human resource
support to 5 Area Managers of Operations for the 88 properties. This
included staffing the general manager for each hotel. Employee relation
issues including: sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and hour
investigations.
Regional Training Manager - Southeast Region Atlanta, GA April 1995-June
1997
Conducted operational training for managers and staff in the Southeast
Region. Six week training included Orientation, day to day policy and
procedure for running the business, staffing guidelines, and management
skills training. Responsible for coaching and counseling employees on
performance throughout the training experience. Assessed managers ability
to begin running a successful motel. Assisted in Recruitment of Managers.

Training Manager - Corporate Offices Dallas, TX January 1994-April 1995
Developed and delivered training materials for a two week course to
supplement operational training. Sessions included: Management Styles,
Quality, Balancing Profit & Loss and Quality, Hiring, Counseling and Time
Management. Instrumental in the strategic decision to implement six
regional training centers located throughout the country.

Advertised, screened interviewed candidates for Management Teams and
General Manager positions for 15 states (69 properties). Supported the
Human Resource needs of 4 Area Managers. Developed strategy for transition
from two person management teams to General Manager positions along with
the Regional Vice-President of Operations. Responsible for 12 training
motels. Initiated a college summer work program with Johnson and Wales
University. The program included recruitment, placement and training.
