The Kansas City Star, 1998 - 2004 - Security Officer: Patrolled assigned
areas, observed for fire and safety hazards. Maintained safety for visitors
and staff with emphasis on public relations conducive to the public image
of The Kansas City Star.
Food Barn Stores, Inc., Kansas City, MO, 1991-1994 - Assistant Corporate
Loss Prevention Director: Investigator. Supervised an average of 7 Loss
Prevention Specialists, investigated check fraud, designed and installed
CCTV security systems, created and implemented undercover and "sting"
operations to reduce losses through employee and vendor theft. Initially
contracted as a vendor to provide loss prevention services in November
1991, I was hired as an employee to assist the Loss Prevention Director and
fill an investigator's position to oversee security operations in 42
grocery store locations in Kansas and Missouri . (Job ended due to company
going out of business.)
Rainbow Mental Health Center, Kansas City, KS, 1990-1991 - Safety &
Security Officer 1: Patrolled assigned areas, observed for fire and safety
hazards, violations of laws, searched for contraband, performed drill tests
and inspections, restrained violent patients, controlled locked areas and
other assigned duties to provide a safe and therapeutic environment for the
treatment of mental illness.
Ree's Contract Service, Overland Park, KS, 1989-1990 - Security Officer:
Provided services for federal government contracts. Locations and duties
varied. Provided security for Region 7 Environmental Protection Agency and
United States Department of Agriculture. Duties included creating public
image appropriate to their image, access control responsibilities, greeting
facility clients and safety and security services.
Fact Finders Investigations, Inc., Kansas City, MO, 1987-1989 - Training
Officer and Loss Prevention Specialist: Responsibilities included creating
and implementing training programs in Loss Prevention, basic security,
first aid and CPR, report writing and courtroom demeanor. As needed, other
duties included surveillance investigations, CCTV camera installations and
video tape review. (Job ended due to company going out of business.)

U.S. Army and Army National Guard, February 1966 to February 1972 -
Federalized by President Johnson in 1968 at Ft. Carson, CO. Petroleum, oils
and lubricant (POL) specialist. Training at Ft. Lee, VA in field tank farm
operations, laying of petroleum pipeline and pump station operations. I was
assigned to the 169th Aviation Company, the 69th Infantry Brigade Army
National Guard. Duty assignment was to operate a fuel truck, refueling
helicopters, aircraft, and ground support vehicles.

Special Strengths
