Plant Manager promoted from Sub-Plant Manager. Oversaw all aspects
of operations for 6 product lines in a fast past, 2-shift,
manufacturing environment of thermal management products.
Directed and developed a 110 person, multi-functional team
consisting of Cost Estimators, assemblers, CNC machinists, Tool
and Die, shipping and warehouse personnel, wash and coating
line, Manufacturing Engineers, Buyers and Planners. Instructed
and mentored employee teams to continuously improve operations,
to delight customers and to increase employee motivation and
development. With the use of Visual Controls and ISO 9000 SOPs,
I introduced Lean Manufacturing and Kanban to the organization.
Developed and maintained operational budgets. Implemented
Fourth Shift MRP system. Became Jack-of-all-trades in times of
crisis in order to get the job done.
Major accomplishments included reduction of past dues by 50%,
increased on time delivery from 65% to 95%, reduced lead time
from 7 weeks to 3 weeks, mentored several employees for career
advancement within Wakefield Engineering, Inc., and reduced raw
material inventory and work in process by 35%.

Product Line Manager. Coordinated a 3-shift cross-functional team
consisting of 108 unionized production associates and 15
professional staff associates in the manufacturing of electronic
assemblies for the automotive industry. Responsible for
improving Quality Operating System measurables reflecting the
product line's performance, as well as the day to day activities
of manufacturing. Directed continuous improvement teams using
Honda's BP and 5-P approaches to problem solving in a very high
growth environment. Selected to work with Honda Motor Company
Purchasing personnel on a 6 month assignment in Reynosa, Mexico
and Toronto, Canada to learn and implement the BP(Best
Practices) program. Utilized Toyota's 7 step problem solving
methodology while manufacturing and supplying Toyota remote
keyless entry systems.
