Software Engineer for Nortel Ericsson Networks Client: Verizon Wireless
Project: CDMA (Carrier Division Multiple Access) Signaling Optimization
(CSO- NOIS Architecture)
The project aimed at optimizing the messages exchanged during call
setup & teardown between the DSFP (EBSC) and
CAU (LPP). The objective of this activity was to reduce the number of
messages associated with CDMA signaling and
thus gain processing time in the CSS components. The feature was
achieved by combining and eliminating messages,
eliminating redundant parameters, and moving certain functionality to
relevant nodes. This feature helped to
reduce call set up time, as well, and improve call capacity (LPP) &
performance.
. Participated actively in the Software Development Life Cycle/Full Cycle
of CSO
. Developed and verified test case document, unified verification plan
using Mercury (HP) Quality Center
. Performed design and system integration testing (across MSC, BSC and BTS
nodes) to test functionality. Collected and verified logs to ensure end-to-
end call-setup with voice path and correct flow of messages across the
nodes. Performed traffic testing using CMUST tool (Nortel proprietary) at
the MTX node to find the exact gain due to CSO code implementation at MTX
node
. Designed project workflow process document high level design and did an
in-depth analysis of the implementation plan
. Implemented the code in PROTEL from the work flow for the SMS, LBS,
OTAPA and OTASP modules
. Tested SMS module functionality with the peripheral capacity to calculate
the gain over existing functionality
. Solved a critical change request for unexpected message handling during
the call set up two weeks before the deadline
. Managed the SANITY team (team of seven) and ensured timely and successful
completion of testing process for the weekly code build for NOIS switches.
