Majors Accomplishments
. Negotiated and repriced a $1.6billion Corporate and Commercial loans
portfolio at Scotiabank that increased gross interest income by $10MM
. Hired a team of cash management services professionals that became
recognized as a leader in the industry and was poised to double fee
income from less than $500M to $1.3MM and grow deposits by 30%, all
within 18 months.
. Developed, implemented and executed a three year business plan at
Scotiabank for the creation of a Treasury Department. Accomplished all
objectives including: the diversification of liquidity sources reducing
reliance on parent company funding by more than $700MM and reducing costs
by $2MM making the bank a self funded one; the creation of an investment
portfolio that grew gross income contribution from less than $500M to
$11MM in three years.
. At Santander Securities, developed the capabilities of the firm for the
sale and delivery of emerging markets fixed income product to local
customers resulting in an increase in gross revenue of $1MM.
. At Santander Securities, set up the entire legal, regulatory and
operational infrastructure for the creation of a tax-exempt, fixed income
mutual fund that generated $5MM in commissions to the firm at issuance
and $1MM in recurrent income. Also successfully negotiated the purchase
of the Mercury Puerto Rico Tax Exempt Fund from Merrill Lynch
representing an immediate increase in fee income of $1MM.
. At BBVA Securities turned around a losing operation into a profitable by
hiring 15 Financial Consultants and growing assets under management form
$80MM to $400MM in four years. Total gross sales (Retail and
Institutional) reached $5MM and net earnings reached $1MM in a four year
period
. At Chase Securities took over an asset management operation and grew
assets under management from $75MM to a peak of $500MM in less than three
years generating incremental income of more than $1MM.
