Projects to release products, Manage production line, Manage quality

control.

7. Responsible for releasing PCB's and establishing Functional test

Fixtures for Boards.

8. Responsible to establish functional tests and fixtures for Analytical

Instruments.

9. Prepare Test Procedure for Power Supplies, Amplifiers (Gradient

Amplifiers, Power RF Amplifiers), Transformers, Cables . Design LMR 240,

LMR 400 cables for reduced cable transmit loss. Very Familiar RF amplifiers

- CPC amplifiers, Herley AMT amplifiers. Gradient Amplifiers- Copley

Control, IECO .

10. Prepare working and assembly procedure for Probes(MRI, coils).

11. Use SQC / SPC techniques and Fish Bone diagram techniques to find root

cause quality issues of the product and get them fixed as soon as possible.

12. Use Lean Techniques like Six Sigma to keep the quality of the incoming

materials( Factory). 13.Responsible for CE(Compliance Engineering/UL

Electrical Standards) /Safety testing coordination 14.Create and maintain

interconnects(Systems Level, Sub Unit level, Installation Level) 18. Create

Bay Maps and product configurations. I have created detailed Product

configurations for the MRI product that's used by Manufacturing, R&D,

Sales, Scheduling. 19. Cable Designing for the Product release. I use

Solid works/ CAD package to create Cables, pin outs, special testes to be

conducted to check the durability of the cable, frame out System level

cable tests, get special tools made for Crimping, Pin installations etc.

20. Supplier Management is also a very important part of my responsibility.

I have interacted and worked with more than a dozen of suppliers( Machine

Parts, Sheet Metal, Cables, Amplifiers, Transformers, Boards, tool and

fixtures designers). I have also worked with suppliers (in China,

Singapore) to outsource some less complicated Sub assemblies and maintain

those units.

Specific Bullet Points about achievements:

. FTMS Product Line (Fourier Transform Mass Spec) Product : Once Varian Inc

bought a new company which was doing Research and Manufacturing FTMS

products, I took the responsibility to understand the product, improve

the product and align to the Varian Product standards. I implemented New

Product process, Assembly,Installation and service manuals. We were able

to ship more than 20 instruments within 1 year.

. MRI Product, Preclinical/Animal Imaging Systems (Custom Solutions): Iam

currently working in the MRI product, where we take a customer order,

sell them Standard Animal imaging systems or prepare custom solutions for

them. I have successfully released new family MRI Probes and have

significantly improved the quality of the MRI probes. I have introduced

new Gradient Amplifiers, Power Supplies and Cables. I got a new PRODUCT

STRUCTURE prepared for the product and it is used by Marketing,

installations, engineering and Service departments. I have improved the

installation manual. I have Service Kits prepared for the Service folks.

Iam currently working on a lot of new products and I have implemented NEW

PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE process. This has significantly helped us to release

new products faster and efficient. We have shipped more than 10 newly

released probes and we have gotten very good feedback from the customers.

* Employee Appreciation Reward - (given by the MRI R&D team).

Manufacturing Engineer Intern - Methode Electronics Inc., IL, USA (May

'06 - Aug '06)

Description of work: Rework and testing of PCB, Production Planning and

Control, Work Cell Lay out designing, SAP integrated Manufacturing,

Assembly drawings, reviewing of drawings to release to production floor,

introducing quality control steps in manufacturing, documentation of new

processes and new products. I used PCB design tool( PCB Express) to clean

and improve the PCB designs. The main project that I worked on was to

review the PCB manufacturing process, Rework process and come up with an

implementation plan to reduce root cause problem and improve the yield rate

of the Boards. The final result of the project was that the boards had

Trace issues and need to change the locations of some board parts to

reduce noise that was causing the failure of boards. I also found that the

rework did not address the actual issue. When we implemented the correction

to the boards we reduced the failure rate of more than 4 different type of

boards by 80%. I also improved the Manufacturing process by implementing

cable modifications and brought in new suppliers.
