Medical Support Assistant/Psychiatric Technician
I am volunteering in the Substance Abuse Recovery Program (SARP), the Intensive Outpatient
Program (IOP) and Occupational Therapy at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Currently, part of a
team developing a Standard Operating Procedures Manual for IOP. Instrumental in helping
SARP to create and input over 100 patients medical information into a database, in order to
medically track patient treatment plans. Teach a Creative Expressions Workshop to help patients
express themselves through art, music, dance gardening and cooking. Answer phones, take
messages, walk-in patients, cancel patient appointments, make copies, scan and fax as
requested. Compose and edit letters to patients commands. For Occupational Therapy I teach a
cooking class to help rehabilitate patients by working on their small motor skills.
