the health care field, different types of patient-centered outcomes
assessment tools and their application in determining patient health
status, change in health status, and the effectiveness of health care
interventions

microbial ecology, and disease eradication
. Chronic Disease: Epidemiological perspectives of health conditions such
as asthma, atherosclerosis, myocardial infection, diabetes, sexually
transmitted diseases, Alzheimer's disease
Public Health Internship
Public Health Internship project helped to integrate public health theory
in a practice setting. The major project was to determine the impact of
demographic characteristics on access to physical activity opportunities in
Marion County, Indianapolis. Helped in analysis and presentation of the
data, reviewed literature on the role of demographic factors on the patient-
physician communication about the use of herbal medicines among Mexican
immigrants. Participated in carrying out a health needs assessment in
Hancock County.
Epidemiology Presentations:
Gupta, M.P. et al. Impact of demographic characteristics on access to
physical activity opportunities. Annual Meeting American Public Health
Association at Philadelphia (Dec 10-14, 2005) and also presented at IN
SHAPE, Indiana Meeting at Indiana University in November 2006.
