Mechanical designer- Updated construction and vendor drawings for nuclear and non-nuclear system upgrades

at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS), including in-core instrumentation and salt water cooling

systems. Existing drawings (plan, elevation and isometric) are scanned, converted to raster (.tif) files and

revised with AutoDesk raster design 3 software and AutoCAD version 2002.

Design specialist- Responsible for CAD layout and isometric extraction (using PDS piping models and

lasergrametry files) of revamped piping in crowded modularized units, including use of Microstation I/RAS B for

preparation of demolition drawings from raster (.tif) files, for Canadian tar sands to synthetic crude oil refinery

expansion. Prepared CAD layouts of Sulfur Recovery Unit (using AutoCAD, Microstation and Intergraph PDS),

devised methods for fabrication of steam jacketed piping components and developed means for extracting

isometric drawings of jacketed systems for refinery expansion in Venezuela.

Principal Designer- Received favorable comments from client for accessibility and operability aspects of

multilevel exchanger structure in Hydrogen Manufacturing Unit. In addition to layout; placed piping components

into Intergraph PDS piping model, ran interference detection software, extracted and annotated Isogen

isometric drawings and PDS plan drawings. Calculated pipe sizes and slopes of closed drain system for new

Hydrogen Plant at Canadian tar sands to synthetic crude oil refinery expansion.

Design specialist- Prepared manual layout of Sulfur Recovery Unit, including steam jacketed piping, sulfur

condensers, sulfur degasification pit and sulfur storage tank (w/internal steam heating coils) for Shell Oil

Philippine refinery expansion. Redesigned feed receipt manifolds in Chemical Process Cell to be modularized,

thereby reducing number of spares required, for Nuclear Waste Vitrification Plant with AutoCAD release 12.

Designed Remotely Operated Piping Connector as replacement for existing connector that leaks excessively

and imposes high pressure drop through its tight 90-degree turn with straight through design that has self-

aligning (low leakage) properties for use in nuclear hot cells.

1991-1992...E&L Engineering, Long Beach, CA

Principal designer- Prepared demolition and phased construction drawings for retrofit of knockout drums at

reciprocating hydrogen compressors. Created 3-D models, extracted hidden line removed files and made

construction drawings with Microstation version 4. Prepared CAD drawings for deaerator replacement in boiler

plant (using AutoCAD version 10 and Microstation), including translations between CAD systems using DXF

neutral file format.

Onofre Nuclear generating Station, including cross-connection of cooling systems and addition of new safety
