Job Description
An international logistics company in the Columbus, OH area is seeking a Warehouse Manager to join their team! They work mainly with the automotive parts manufacturers. The ideal candidate has experience in handling automotive/industrial parts in logistics companies. For this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the general warehouse operations, hiring/training other warehouse clerks, and also face to face customer service at the clients’ sites in the Indianapolis area. The ability to speak another language is a plus. This is a full-time, direct hire role.
Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:
Supervises and oversees the whole operations of the warehouse functions
Visit the customers’ sites (most of them are automotive parts manufactures) and help them with loading/unloading, packing, etc.
Trains and assists other warehouse leads and workers
Make sure that all the policies and rules are followed and understood
Create crates as needed using hand tools such as saws, nail guns, etc.
Perform face to face customer service to the clients, join onsite meetings
Communicates with the upper managements to coordinate the work schedules
Evaluates the performance of other employees, make suggestions on the training as needed
Maintains and secure good and safe work environment
Creates and reviews reports
Other duties as assigned
Warehouse Manager Requirements:
Associate’s degree is preferred
At least 3 years of working experience in a warehouse environment
Ability to speak another language (any) is a plus
Familiarity with warehouse functions (shipping / receiving)
Supervisory/management experience
Good customer service and communication skills
Computer skills (Microsoft Office including Word and Excel)
Valid driver’s license
Organizational and time management skills
While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
