We are looking for an Exploitation Engineer to be a member of the Northern AB/BC Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of multiple assets. Responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities, optimization of EOR schemes, long-range planning, working the multi-disciplinary team on budgeting for these assets, and supporting A&D activities.
The successful candidate would have the following experience and skills:
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience.
Exposure to oil reservoirs in Western Canada and familiar with the regulatory frameworks in both Alberta and BC
Assist and support in developing the BU’s short & long term capital and operating plans
Budget forecasting, providing variance analysis, updating accruals and tracking relevant KPIs
Identify and develop new exploitation opportunities and reservoir depletion strategies on existing and prospective assets:
increase recovery in established mature reservoirs
improve well productivity of underperforming wells with workover and stimulation recommendations; reactivations; re-entries; recompletions
Evaluation of drill prospects; risk analysis and type curve analysis.
Detailed understanding of geologic concepts in relation to Exploitation & Reservoir Engineering
Familiar with current drilling and completion operations and technologies
Complete economic analysis and provide input on capital allocation decisions
Ability to identify opportunities:
Monitor industry and competitor activity and identify opportunities for new technology applications
Consolidations, farm-ins, and land acquisition
Improve area netback
Familiar with field operations. Good working understanding of Facilities and Production Engineering concepts
Additional:
Effective workingin a multi-disciplinary team
Assist / coordinate government applications as required
Prepare and deliver presentations to executive management team
Attention to detail with an abilityto do a reasonableness checks
Willing to make the occasional trip to the field (well reviews, project scoping, meeting stakeholders, etc.)
Participate in Cardinal’s Health, Safety and Environmental program
Experience with the following software is advantageous:
Schlumberger Oil Field Manager (OFM)
IHS Accumap and/or geoSCOUT
PVR and/or Verdazo
ValNav
S&P Global Harmony (decline analysis)
Power BI and Data Analytics
Familiar with dynamic modelling (CMG IMEX/GEMS/STARS)
