The Controller will oversee all accounting operations for a $50M+ multi-state retail medical organization with over 40 locations across 9 states. Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in private equity-backed businesses and a successful track record of navigating through financial transactions, including acquisitions, integrations, and recapitalizations. This individual will be instrumental in supporting strategic decision-making as the organization continues to grow.
Position Responsibilities: Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and reporting packages for internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel to ensure timely completion of audits, filings, and compliance requirements.Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies to support scalability and mitigate risk.Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment.Partner with operations and finance leadership to drive financial planning, analysis, and budgeting processes.Support due diligence efforts and financial modeling related to M&A and recapitalization activities.Provide strategic insight to executive leadership based on financial performance and KPIs. Required Education/Experience : Required Education/Experience - Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.Demonstrated experience in a private equity-backed company and involvement in one or more transaction events (M&A, recapitalization, etc.).Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel modeling. \tIn addition to the base range of $150,000.00 - $170,000.00, DOE, this role will be eligible for an annual target bonus of 20%
