Role: Head of Trading, India

This is a department head position within the Trading team that spans all areas of the function, from operations, clients, our people, and our future. With a strong trading and management background, you will be leading large parts of the day-to-day team operations and play a strategic hybrid role across all parts of operations and Trading team management.
As the Head of Trading, you will be working closely with heads from other departments including Sales and Account Management; not only within India but across our Global footprint. You will be responsible for maximising the output of the overall Trading team beneath you.
Driving GP Performance
Set the strategy and lead work streams that continuously look to maximise GP
Balance short term margin decisions with long term growth opportunities
Set GP expectations by product for the team and monitor accordingly
Monitor spend against preferred inventory & DSP partners and determine where we should focus our strategy.
Escalation point - troubleshoot and provide support on any client or technical issues
Manage workload and campaign distribution for traders
Liaise with relevant agencies where necessary on campaign issues
Balance profitability versus client performance and retention in order to achieve both goals
Regular updates to the business on GP performance and strategy
Monitoring delivery and margins with the view of enhancing performance
Forecasting
Manage the process for collating weekly delivery forecasts to feed into the India monthly performance updates
Work with the trader managers to set the standard and expectations for team forecasts
Work with commercial leads to ensure the forecast numbers being submitted are accurate and based on delivered numbers
Manage any big shifts in margin with the team and inform the leadership team providing commentary and a plan of action to mitigate negative impact
Team Leadership
Bring more commercial awareness into the Trading team and bridge the gap to account management and Sales
Work with our CoE to identify and employ best practice for how traders and analysts work together.
Ensure team members have clear objectives set, regular development conversations and are on track for the next step in and development of their skills and career path.
Make sure team members are motivated, engaged and understand how they fit into the business
Represent and advocate for the Trading team within senior discussions/meetings.
Continual improvement of trading OKRs - ability and speed of marking, tracking & action
Continual identification of areas of improvement in the team’s trading abilities, rolling out training where necessary
Acting as support for Trader Managers, a source of advice and sounding board
Make additional headcount requests when necessary to the Chief Commercial Officer
Handle internal HR and new starter requirements
Coordinate on boarding and training with Trader Managers
Commercial Responsibility
Ensuring that MiQ’s reputation for best-in-class service is preserved
Support Commercial Leads in the QA of trading agreements to drive opportunities for sustainable GP growth
Leveraging your experience to raise the standards of service within the Trading team
Work with Product teams to review and set best practices for product execution in your market.

What you’ll bring
Client facing experience, a natural ability to build rapport and respect quickly.
Ability to engage and partner with a variety of internal & external stakeholders effectively.
Trading background, deep technical digital experience.
Management experience within a fast-paced team, leading and guiding junior members.
At least 8 years trading experience
At least 2 years management experience
High level of organisation, technical capability, and conscientiousness
Excellent communication skills, ability to brief and engage a variety of different teams & specialists.
Proactive, solution-led and strategic commercial approach to clients.
