Summary:
The Plant Manager will lead operations at a stand-alone thermoforming facility producing polystyrene lids for retail, institutional, and national accounts. Oversee all aspects of manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, maintenance, safety, and staff development for a plant generating over $30M in annual sales.
Key Responsibilities:
The Plant Manager will manage 50+ employees across production, office, and warehouse functions.
Oversee day-to-day operations in the facility, including inventory management maintenance of thermoforms, extruders, and related equipment.
Ensure safety, quality, cost control, and on-time delivery of customer orders.
The Plant Manager will monitor production metrics, drive continuous improvement, and meet annual performance targets.
Maintain compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, EEOC, and company standards.
Foster a high-morale, team-based culture focused on safety, efficiency, and growth.
The Plant Manager will act as primary backup for the Production Manager and secondary for HR Manager.
Train and develop staff to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Qualifications:
The Plant Manager must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or industrial management.
Must have 5–7 years’ experience as a Plant Manager in a plastics or consumer goods manufacturing setting.
Proven track record in cost control, productivity, lean manufacturing, and team leadership.
Green Belt/ Black Belt preferred.
The Plant Manager must have strong mechanical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills; bilingual skills a plus.
Comfortable in a hands-on role in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
The Plant Manager will frequently use machinery and handling materials up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to heat, noise, odors, and airborne particles in a manufacturing environment.
PPE is always required.
Must be able to work weekends and overtime as needed.
