The Role
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day financial and accounting activities. As the new Accounting Manager in our San Pedro Sula, Honduras location, you will be responsible for managing a strong team of accountants across two legal entities and locations. You will work closely with our corporate financial management team.
What You’ll Do:
Responsible for day-to-day transactional accounting and data entry
Supervise the accounts payable process, such as bill management and payment, review AP aging
Ensure intercompany profit is booked correctly
Supervise the preparation and processing of payroll
File monthly tax returns and any other compliance payroll reports
Prepare and post entries into accounting system
Support the HR team with payroll questions
Help put in place schedules/track employee benefits and other forms of compensation
Manage and improve internal controls
Perform due diligence on odd transactional activity and cleanup as necessary for bank and credit card reconciliations
Update projected inflows & outflows weekly by working with the Finance team
Manage month end close process
Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports and statements
Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
What We Expect From You:
5+ years of Accounting experience and a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
Knowledge of GAAP or IFRS is a must
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
Knowledge of Honduran Free Zone and Call Center tax laws
Comfortable and excited to work with a remote team
Experience with accounting software, ERP systems and databases (NetSuite, Excel, other systems a plus)
Strong time management and organizational skills
Able to manage multiple priorities and competing demands
Desire to continue to grow through continual training
