Job Title: Row-Crop Farm Operator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Row-Crop farm operator to join our team. This position involves operating high-capacity agricultural planters and other application equipment to plant crops and apply fertilizers across row-crop farms in Indiana. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with crop application, strong knowledge of agricultural equipment, and a commitment to safety and precision.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain large implements and application equipment (e.g., John Deere, Case IH).
Accurately apply seeds, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to row crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat.
Follow all state and federal regulations for applications, including proper PPE usage and recordkeeping.
Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance to ensure optimal operation.
Read and interpret application maps, field boundaries, and GPS-guided systems.
Work closely with farm managers, agronomists, and other applicators to coordinate schedules and application timing.
Maintain detailed logs of chemicals applied, rates, and environmental conditions.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience operating agricultural implements or similar equipment.
Familiarity with precision agriculture tools (e.g., GPS, rate controllers, field mapping).
Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work extended hours during peak seasons.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
CDL with appropriate endorsements is a plus but not required.
