Sheet Metal Fabricator
Job Description
We are seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator for a 1st shift position at a building product manufacturer. The role involves handling fabrication duties on sheet metal projects, including cutting aluminum stock, glazing, and installation.
Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using specialized tools and equipment
Assemble and install sheet metal hardware and components as needed
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and building codes
Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy and durability of finished products
Operate shear/press brake machines daily
Utilize a tape measure to assess measurementsEssential Skills
Experience with shear and press brake operations
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Proficiency in assembly and installation of sheet metal components
1-2 years of experience within a fabrication shop
Familiarity with saws, hand tools, power tools, drills, machine operation, and tape measuresAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with saw operation, micrometers, calipers, drill press, and general machine operation

Work Environment
This position is based in a clean manufacturing facility with a team of 105 production individuals. The work schedule is 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with potential overtime starting as early as 4:30 AM. Steel-toed boots are required on the floor, and teamwork is essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of COLUMBUS, Ohio.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
