Office of Employee & Business Services
What You’ll Do
This role demands a versatile and hands-on individual responsible for performing general office and building maintenance and repair duties for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS). Expect a dynamic work environment with a mix of routine tasks and unexpected challenges.
Day-to-Day you will:
Respond to employee inquiries and requests such as:
Installing signage
moving furniture
address room temperature issues with building management
patching holes and painting walls
hanging whiteboards & pictures
Interact with building management on maintenance and repair issues
Attend to tenant concerns regarding plumbing, electrical and HVAC issues and address with building management
Expect lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions
Diagnose and solve problems efficiently
Work effectively with colleagues and contractors
Analyze data, and prepare meaningful reports for management
Oversee the related work request software and processes.
Accomplish and communicate requested work tasks.
Work with internal customers and, on occasion, external customers (e.g., vendor and lessor coordination, other State agencies, building managers)
Schedule\: Standard workdays are Monday through Friday between 7\:30 a.m. and 5\:00 p.m. This position is in person.
Travel\:
On occasion you will travel outside of your headquarter office as needed, approximately 10 to 15 percent of the time. You will provide support to all current and future ODJFS State sites on an as-needed basis. Overnight travel is rarely required, but individual projects may require flexible working hours. ODJFS Fleet vehicles are available for travel use. In order to operate a state vehicle, you must have a valid drivers license.

Completion of post-secondary training in facilities maintenance technology, industrial trades technology or comparable training program
OPTION 2:
1 yr. exp. in construction/building maintenance that included carpentry, electrical, plumbing & HVAC

Pay Information
This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 07. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $21.61per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.
