This position's primary function is to work with the controls and QC teams as well as the on-shift electricians, in a support roll. Specializing in VFD, motion and scanning systems. The person in this position provides technical skills in the construction, installation, operation, testing and maintenance of electrical control equipment, computer systems and related equipment at Hampton Lumber Mills Tillamook Division

Responsibilities
Participate in the calibration, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic and computerized equipment, including machine control PLCs and motion control systems, variable speed drives of all types, and lumber and grade recovery optimization systems.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for electronic equipment as scheduled by the maintenance planner.
Work cooperatively and jointly with mill electricians to provide quality seamless customer service for all production departments electrical needs.
Changes wiring diagrams, and layout drawings for systems or equipment changed in the completion of job duties.
Work with mill electricians, lead operators and supervisors, and QC persons to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes as prescribed by the maintenance management team.
Actively supports the electrical staff with project support, and completion of basic electrical duties as necessary.
Responsible for backing up and documenting all machine center programs and changes made to them.
Participates and/or assists with the training of electricians to better familiarize them with the more technical aspects of the facility.
Prepare reports and functional descriptions to allow others to follow the changes being made on all machine centers on a daily basis.
Routinely participates in maintenance planning meetings to provide information and input regarding maintenance work on process control equipment.
Take an active role in the predictive maintenance program to support prompt resolution of problems that have been identified by anyone.
Must have comprehensive understanding of Allen Bradley PLC/HMI platforms and networking and their current programming software.
Qualifications
8000 Hours experience and related training as required for licensing. Additional training and experience as required to gain acceptable level of expertise in PLC and computerized equipment, including programs dealing with motion, scanning, E-300 overloads and VFD’s.
Manufacturing Plant Journeyman Electrician License or General Journeyman Electrician License.
