Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain comprehensive job cost tracking systems for multiple projects
Allocate direct and indirect costs to specific jobs, contracts, and projects
Prepare detailed job cost reports, including variance analysis and profitability assessments
Reconcile project expenses against budgets and identify potential cost overruns
Collaborate with project managers to provide real-time cost tracking and financial insights
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for all project-related expenses
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Conduct regular cost analysis to improve project estimating and bidding processes
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and external reporting requirements
Utilize accounting software and advanced spreadsheet techniques for financial analysis
Qualifications Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5 years of experience in job costing or project accounting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle)
Advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly
