Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Architect who will fill a key role responsible for overseeing the design, documentation, and execution of architectural projects from concept through construction. This position requires a blend of design expertise, technical knowledge, and project management skills to deliver high-quality projects while maintaining client relationships and managing team coordination. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional capable of leading small to mid-size commercial and residential projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership & Management
Lead and manage multiple projects from design conception through construction completion.
Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans, ensuring alignment with client expectations and strategic firm objectives.
Serve as the point of contact for clients, design consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
Coordinate project deliverables with engineering consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
Ensure all projects meet quality standards, adhere to contractual obligations, and comply with regulatory requirements.
Architectural Design & Technical Oversight
Develop and refine project concepts, incorporating innovative and sustainable design solutions.
Oversee the production of detailed construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings.
Conduct code analysis and ensure designs comply with zoning, ADA, and building regulations.
Resolve design and construction issues through coordination with contractors and consultants.
Develop project manuals as required per project.
Assist staff in the bidding process as required per project.
Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings to maintain design integrity throughout the construction process.
Possess a thorough knowledge of contract administration including project closeout procedures.
Team Coordination & Mentorship
Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Provide guidance and technical expertise to junior architects and designers.
Facilitate project reviews and critiques per company guidelines to enhance design quality and team development.
Assign tasks and oversee staff workflow to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications & Skills:
Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) and active architectural licensure or currently preparing for ARE testing.
8+ years of experience in architectural design, project management, and construction administration.
Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in leading projects across various building types.
Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and project management software, such as Unanet.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and industry best practices.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
