Job Description

The Mitigation Manager for Thompson Building Associates (TBA) is responsible for the overall management of all EMS and contents projects assigned to you and reports to the VP of Operations.

The Mitigation Manager oversees and manages all aspects of the EMS process, including project planning, resource allocation, and team management. This role requires a general knowledge of technical construction and soft skills in communication and leadership – recognizing this role is as much about people management as it is about project management. The Mitigation Manager will have many direct reports and be responsible for ensuring that all company processes and procedures are followed. The Mitigation Manager is accountable for all expenses associated with their assigned projects. The Mitigation Manager ensures the team is properly staffed, trained, and motivated to meet all the demands of current work and new work brought forth to the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage mitigation, board-up, and contents projects from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

Oversee the work of your team, subcontractors, and other vendors, ensuring that they are working efficiently and to the highest quality standards, maintaining velocity and profitability.

Oversee and complete all EMS sales, and work with adjusters as reasonable to complete timely billings.

Allocate resources effectively to ensure that projects are completed timely, and oversee maintenance of EMS equipment.

Understand and promote the operational system(s) used by the company.

Work with the Director of Operations to develop and enforce departmental standards, goals, profitability, and client retention.

Hold all Direct Reports accountable to execute the scope accurately.

Execute daily database entries and other reporting tools employed by TBA to ensure clarity.

Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to management.

Maintain accurate records of project progress and financial performance.

Close the job with the client, ensuring job profitability and customer satisfaction.

Maintain a professional, positive attitude and appearance; always demonstrating a sense of urgency.

Schedule and train production employees regularly pertaining to job quality or changes within the industrys standards.

Audit all paperwork from the field and validate Work Authorizations or any other required documentation.

Conduct Performance Reviews for direct reports and ensure that all Team Member reviews are conducted and processed timely and candidly.

Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs, and actively participate in company initiatives as they arise.

Supervise and manage teams which may include any disciplinary action that may be needed.

Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.

Manage the performance of construction teams and provide coaching and feedback as needed.

Other duties as needed and/or as directed by Operations Manager and the Leadership Team.

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

Experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.

Strong knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards as it relates to mitigation – particularly working in a hazardous environment which may include but not to Lead, Asbestos, Mold, Mycotoxins, PICs, sewage, soot – and the work practices and controls necessary to mitigate exposure and liability.

Understanding when a permit is required for a job.

Understanding of the inspection/permit process as it relates to mitigation.

Familiarity with industry software and tools, such as Xactimate, rLinc, HH2 software, Sage/Timberline, scheduling software, and various Microsoft Office software.

Experience with construction materials and methods and how they will affect structural drying and board-up efforts.

Understand how insurance claims are processed as well as possess a basic knowledge of industry practices.

Knowledge of IICRC standards, and OSHA requirements

Building and Construction - Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair and mitigation of houses, buildings, and building systems.

Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and their applications as they apply to our business.

Knowledge of Team building, Culture, and Management styles endorsed by the company.

Good general understanding of common computer software and ability to learn and adapt new applications.

Keep up with OSHA and EPA safety requirements and implement them on the job sites.

Personnel and Human Resources - Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

Recognize when outcomes meet or exceed required performance levels and take appropriate action to

acknowledge individuals or teams; develop an appropriate recognition program. Develop and implement any

training programs for staff at all levels within your team.

Interact with clients and customers in reconstruction activities and ensure client satisfaction throughout the entire project flow.

Build relationships with Clients, Customers, Sub-contractors, vendors and Team-TBA
