Job Overview:
The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a skilled and dynamic professional to lead the agency’s behavioral health policy initiatives. This role will focus on improving access to quality behavioral health services for Ohio’s Medicaid population by directing the development and implementation of strategic policies, collaborating with key stakeholders, and overseeing legislative and program development. The Behavioral Health Policy Deputy Director will work closely with ODM leadership and supervise a team of professionals to achieve agency goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct the development of behavioral health policy initiatives to enhance Medicaid services, focusing on service delivery, eligibility, and benefit design.
Collaborate with internal teams and sister-state agencies to implement ODM’s strategic objectives.
Conduct legislative analyses, draft proposals, and prepare policy recommendations for leadership review.
Manage stakeholder engagement efforts, including advisory groups, provider associations, and legislators.
Supervise assigned staff, including providing direction, evaluating performance, and fostering professional growth.
Monitor the progress and effectiveness of behavioral health initiatives, addressing demographic and budgetary trends.
Represent ODM at conferences, seminars, and community meetings, responding to public and government inquiries.

THIS POSITION IS UNCLASSIFIED PER 124.11 (A) (9), OHIO REVISED CODE.
Compensation is as listed on the posting unless required by legislation or union contract.
This position is overtime exempt.
