Job Description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects related to the implementation and support of Xerox office printers within the MPS Office Automation portfolio. This includes overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of projects in line with the Project Management methodology. The role will also involve leading special projects aimed at optimizing the fleet of devices, improving profitability, and updating software firmware’s.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management
Assess Phase: Define project scope and formally authorize the commencement of new projects related to Xerox office printers. Obtain signed scope definition documents from stakeholders.
Planning Phase: Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and risk management strategies. Coordinate with the technical teams to define deployment strategies and change management plans.
Execution Phase: Oversee the installation, setup, and configuration of Xerox printers according to ADS standards and customer requirements. Ensure all project deliverables meet the agreed scope and quality.
Monitoring & Control Phase: Proactively manage risks, issues, and change requests during project execution. Monitor project progress, track deviations, and take corrective actions as needed.
Close Out Phase: Facilitate project close-out activities, including customer sign-off and handover to operations. Ensure all project documentation and lessons learned are captured.
Special Projects
Unprofitable Device Replacement: Identify underperforming or unprofitable Xerox devices. Plan and execute projects for their replacement or optimization to improve profitability.
Non-Communicating Devices: Work on projects aimed at identifying and resolving communication issues with non-networked or poorly connected devices.
Firmware Updates: Manage initiatives to upgrade Xerox devices to the latest firmware versions, ensuring they are up to date with the newest features and security protocols.
Proactive Device Monitoring: Develop strategies to increase the number of proactively monitored devices to ensure maximum uptime and preventative issue resolution.
Change Management:
Develop and execute a robust change management plan for each project, including user communication, training, and support.
Use multiple communication channels such as email, newsletters, and web pages to ensure stakeholders are informed about new deployments.
Collaborate with the marketing team to create awareness campaigns leading up to the new solution’s rollout (e.g., "Xerox is Coming" campaigns).
Ensure that training and user setup are completed for all new devices.
Key Deliverables:
Comprehensive project management plans, schedules, and risk assessments for each Xerox deployment.
Accurate tracking and reporting of project progress, risks, and issues during regular status meetings.
Completion of all project deliverables on time, within scope, and budget.
Successful delivery and handover of projects, with clear client acceptance and satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:
Management Diploma or degree in Project Management, Information Technology, or related field.
PMI or PMP certification is required.
Minimum of 1 years of project management experience, preferably within MPS, office automation, or IT environments.
Strong understanding of PM methodology and project lifecycle.
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale technology deployments, particularly in a corporate environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
