Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for an innovative Category Manager to join our Purchasing team within our Home & Appliances division, overseeing our Home Furniture category!

Looking after a diverse product range, we're looking for a commercial Category Manager to continue curating the offering, ensuring our customers have the most in-demand and trending products in the market.

Reporting to the Head of Home & Appliances this role will take ownership of our Home Furniture category portfolio, partnering with suppliers and keeping on top of market trends to provide our customers high quality, best priced products.

If you’re an ambitious, driven Assistant Buyer / Junior Category Manager and are looking to step up and challenge yourself, or have a couple of years as a Category Manager / Buyer and are familiar with category ownership and optimisation, but looking to challenge themselves with different category and product experience; this is a brilliant opportunity to utilise your Buying expertise within a leading, ASX listed eCommerce business, and turn your passion for product into an exceptional offering for our customer!

In this role you'll be responsible for:

Identifying commercial opportunities for category expansion including sourcing and developing new products within Home Furniture

Engaging and sourcing key suppliers in World's best brand and Kogan.com's Exclusive Brands

Managing and engaging with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to build effective working relationships and achieve outcomes

Ensuring the most efficient logistics, warehousing and shipping options are chosen for each product

Maximising profitability of all products, through a depth of understanding of your category and the market

Being proactive, innovative and striving to continually develop your category for our customers

Actively negotiating the best possible trading terms and prices

Drive and control price changes across our different sales channels, and contribute towards pricing reviews when required

Ensuring timely import of products and stock management, ensuring fulfilment of customer demand

Actively managing and monitoring inventory levels to achieve company goals and KPIs, including planning promotional activity and actively reacting to market conditions

Ensuring revenue and profit targets are exceeded every month

Monitoring performance and completing range reviews across your category and recommending actions where necessary

Partnering with Marketing to ensure product listings are well merchandised and discoverable to support the customer journey

To be successful in this role, you should be:

University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Business or similar)

Experienced as a Category Manager, preferably within an eCommerce, Retail or FMCG environment. Experience with Furniture, Homewares or other Home & Living categories will be highly regarded

Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through exceptional communication and engagement

Highly analytical and possess commercial nous, being able to recognise opportunity and make quick decisions for the best commercial outcomes, so that we can offer market-leading pricing to our customers

Comfortable working within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Being agile and adaptable is key to success!

A whiz with Microsoft Excel (we’re talking VLOOKUP and pivot tables, not SUM and AVERAGE - and we will test your capabilities)

Tech savvy and able to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity.

Ready to challenge, be challenged, and work within our highly disruptive business model.
