Overview
Develops and implements a structure to support long-term growth and continuity of the research program. Creates, coordinates, and presents educational programs related to all aspects of research.
Responsibilities
• Defines and implements infrastructure to support research growth. • Creates an environment where clinicians are comfortable asking for the support they need to explore their research passions. • Identifies research-related educational needs within the division and create or acquire programming to meet those needs. • Prepares and teaches research-related education sessions. Facilitates training and maintains training records for all researchers. Educates faculty regarding production of intellectual property. • Monitors changes in grant application requirements and ensures that all researchers are educated in the new processes. Mentors researchers in all phases of grant application and management. Monitors grant-related finances and assists with grant funding and writing. • Identifies funding sources available to support research and communicate this information to potentially interested researchers. • Develops and tracks research performance measures. Prepares and presents ongoing performance reports that are updated on a weekly or biweekly basis.
Qualifications
Education Requirement: Master’s Degree or equivalent experience, required. Certifications: CITI certification, preferred. Skills: • Strong interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills, required. • High level of initiative, self-direction and accountability for actions required. Strong leadership and decision-making skills, required. • Exceptional customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship skills required for interaction with contacts. • Competence in personal computing and beginning competence in the use of Microsoft Office software. Experience: Experience in research related programs and activities, required.
