Duties
You will design, develop, and adapt mathematical, statistical, economic, and engineering methods to analyze operational and relational aspects of program cost, technical and schedule dimensions for decision makers.
You will prepare independent cost analyses and assessments of acquisition programs across all commodities (Ships, Air, IT etc.)
You will provide economic and business case analysis support to decision-makers to include the forecasting of labor, inflation, industrial, and technical trends as they impact the acquisition process.
You will participate in data collection efforts and conduct quality assurance efforts on collected data.
You will collaborate and communicate orally and in writing with both internal and external counterparts.
You will prepare briefs, memos, or reports that distills relevant information, highlight key issues, and summarize analysis findings to senior management.

This a Defense Acquisition Workforce position that requires a Business Cost Estimating, Practitioner acquisition certification. The incumbent has 60 months to earn this certification.
You must obtain and maintain certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 5000.66. Acquisition Workforce (AWF) members must complete 80 hours of Continuous Learning Points (CLPs) every two (2) years, in accordance with DoDI 5000.66.
Workforce members are encouraged to earn their CLPs by completing Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Credentials. Obtaining certification within the allotted grace period.
Failure to meet these requirements could result in disciplinary action and/or removal from employment.

Qualifications
GS-13 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience preparing cost analyses and assessments of acquisition programs that are large and complex. Experience with data collection, developing cost models, and performing risk, and sensitivity analysis. Analyze processes and procedures to make recommendations relative to cost control/ cost reduction.
GS-12 Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialize experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
