Our client, an environmentally focused American Shipping Company, headquartered in New York are looking to establish and grow their Commercial department.
Focused on the dry bulk market, they are in search of someone from a Shipping operations or chartering background for the post.
Responsibilities: Leading the fleet fuel efficiency monitoring and improvement program.
Selecting and reviewing fuel efficiency monitoring vendors and energy saving technology providers.
Negotiating on service contracts with specific vendors and contractors and following up on this when needed.
Working in contact with the technical department.
Looking at fuel saving processes and evaluating on value added to the business.
Develop practical evaluation models, before and after analysis and calculate return on investment.
Make sensible recommendations.
Work alongside various other departments in the business.
Analyse and fufill projects.
Identify newbuilding investment direction.
Recommend new technologies.
Candidates MUST hold a suitable United States work entitlement.
Requirements: Master degree in Science Majors.
Naval architecture background preferable.
In depth knowledge of ships technical aspect, ship performance and emission cutting technologies.
Relative working experience in energy saving technologies / ship performance analysis.
Excellent quantitative analysis and statistical analysis skills.
Advanced Excel user.
Confident communicator, able to pitch and present with little technical training.
