Duties

Travels to participate in meetings, conferences, and committees pertaining to the assigned area of Diminishing Manufacturing Resources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) expertise.

Performs analysis on items (NSN/non-NSN) to resolve DMSMS, sourcing issue(s), ensure DMSMS parts support and customer support

Provides recommendations and technical/quality support in one or more of the following areas: DMSMS, Parts Management and the Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) Program.

Analyzes technical source documents such as engineering drawings, blueprints, commercial and military specifications and standards to determine adequacy of technical data packages for interchangeability, substitutability, and supportability.

Assists in resolving technical/quality issues pertaining to the DMSMS resolutions and uses of the item.

Monitor workload, compile statistics, and brief leadership on supply chain related issues

Work jointly with other DLA/DoD functional disciplines, and Industry to identify future acquisition, demand requirements, and to assist with providing recommendations to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:

Participating in meetings, conferences, and committees pertaining to Obsolescence Parts Research, Diminishing Manufacturing Resources and Material Shortages Process, Material Coding, among others.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical/quality data for supply items in various procurement and logistical data systems.

Reviewing technical data and supply/procurement data, to assist with issues related to supply/material availability, preparing reports on program effectiveness, and briefing results.

Leading or conducting special projects/studies with cross-functional teams to recommend improvements to technical and quality processes and procedures concerning obsolescence issues in supply chains.
